big difference in UHI between queens and nyack
Of course. Theres also a big difference in every day weather between manhattan college parkway and beach 35th street. But that doesnt change definitions. If people are discussing the city and urban NE nj, say that. Im closer to central park than all of suffolk county.

Rainfall .54" from late afternoon / evening showers. Moderate to heavy at times. No thunder or lightning observed. Two day event total = .63". Cold morning. Low temperature 36. Dipped to freezing or just below at usual Sussex County cold spots. Looks cold tonight with widespread frost. Frost Advisories and Freeze Warnings posted over most of NJ. Metro and L.I. left out but think some frost L.I. cold spots in play.
Metro wasnt left out. I have a frost advisory.

I know this is just a blip, but so far this October definitely feels different than the last few years. Nice having leaves on the ground before halloween for a change.

Has anyone just kindly asked the sun to be around longer?
Libertybell did but it came in 14 consecutive text messages and the sun chose to ignore it.

From all the pictures I've seen, it looks like a great year for foliage in upstate NY and NNE. Their comparatively wetter summer really helped things along.
Of course it is, on a year i cant get up there at all.

Anyone actually see/hear of any non-coastal flooding reports?
Nothing of note in Rockland. The usual streams and lakes that tend to overflow were pretty low going in.

I only got 2 or 3 all season but then it rained... I've been pulling a couple a day for the last week or so The strawberries are doing well too and a bunch of tomato plants I thought were dead revived themselves and started putting on fruit yesterday.
I stopped counting at about 150 jalapenos and 50 mini sweets. That and the basil were the only things of mine that did well this year.

Got the space heater going. I'm sure @BxEnginewould approve.
As long as you have it plugged into an extension cord running under a rug, with your clothes hanging over it.

I can literally see the rain from Nyack. Have been able to see it the better part of an hour. Still dry here.
