  1. 2 is the low Fire companies up this way were very busy with tree damage yesterday. Luckily our power stayed on. Hopefully that wind stays down.
  2. From Joe Bastardi: apparently, Penn Dot had no idea that Sideshow Bob was going to thump central Pa. No watches or advisories were out so there was no plowing anywhere and the first 90 miles of my journey took 3 hours in visibilities that were 1/8 to 1/4 S plus Then 42 miles in 3 hours on the Ct turnpike. So a record 10 hours and 35 minutes Pa to RI I am here with my extended family for my first Christmas without mom and dad. Will make sure the Avenger shows up tomorrow. I thought I would be in RI by 4. Ct has no mercy and neither does Penn Dot Sideshow Bob has been on the charts for a week. How whoever supplied info to Penn Dot did not know ( apparently there were no WWAs out before. I got that from Garrett as I don't watch forecasts around here) is almost unbelievable. I have to admit the flashing signs when you could see them in the s plus saying slippery roads were possible when there was 2 inches on the road were kind of amusing They should call weatherbell. I think our snow clients will tell you they were warned
  3. Seen a report they had thundersnow in Indiana County Pa. a few min ago.
  4. 3in of snow gone here too. Temp is dropping here too. And I seen geese 2 large flocks on Tuesday headed south. Seemed odd that so late in the Fall winter season that hey were leaving.
  5. Yea where was the WWA yesterday? I guess they figured they better put one out for today for the counties they missed yesterday. They probably got some slack on that one from yesterday. So lets see if we get anything out of the WWA today. Wind is guaranteed!
  6. I got my answer https://lm.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Flocal21news.com%2Fnews%2Flocal%2Fppl-electric-utilities-prepare-for-power-outages-ahead-of-storm%23&h=AT12jC89Me-EgVuK29HvWXyMsNlIFIPmTUtgb7cg13NlFxyT8sfouLuevoJ3Sf53OCX08nmC0_i5qE2gZmDP1c44Fd4w-K-TGcSrZ_mCMfv8ygfGyWuX-z_w6oybl-DDRw
  7. Yes they are. The reason I asked was After the hurricane in Florida this fall FPL said after the winds go below 35 mph then they will start restoring power:Immediately following the hurricane, once winds drop below 35 miles per hour, FPL will continue restoration and conduct damage assessments with field crews," the utility company said in a written statement.Sep 28, 2022 I didn't know if those standards apply up here or not.
  8. Yea and will they attempt to restore the power with high winds?
  9. Something tells me the power will go off tomorrow. My wife and I have that feeling
  10. What time will the artic front be going thru the squehanna Valley?
  11. I just seen a cedar waxwing a few nine ago. They are not a bird that's normally around these parts. Every now and then I see them when they are migrating north is the spring.
  12. They more than dropped the ball...they are always imo...to conservative it seems. But they do get it right most of the time.
  13. Today Rain and snow, becoming all rain after noon. High near 42. East wind 6 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible. They must be sleeping at the NWS office!
  14. Wouldn't it be nice if it didn't completely flip over to rain at least north and west of Harrisburg
  15. NWS should have WWA up here. They always seem to down play an event. About half inch here and snowing hard now. Also heard 3 different fire sirens sounding
