1. I was 5 miles from country walk in Kendall, Andrew was amazing but the after effects horrific.

Yessir...I stayed on campus for a couple days, then they closed it and encouraged everyone to go home for a couple weeks. I had to get a ride to FLT airport at 5:00 am thru a curfew. Fun stuff Classes didn't started until later in Sept.

I lived in S Fl for a long while

they have been exponentially lucky in Broward and South Palm beach county for 50 years . 5-0

So much money along the water. Super wealth

Do you believe this will expand significantly in size or remain rather small until a possible landfall

I was in Coral Gables (freshman year at UMiami) for Andrew.  It was crazy, but it isn't too populous as you go south from there.  Can't imagine something close to that into FTL/Boca/West Palm.  Disaster.....

Highs were supposed to be mid/upper 80s a couple days ago.  High of 82F so far.

Even BTV only 83F so far and they looked to have a shot at 90F (this morning’s forecast was for 88F), plus they are usually closer to SNE temps.

Definitely under-performing by at least 5F across the board up here with 70s and low 80s.

low to mid 90s in CT/RI and SEMA

4. Install complete.  No more spring install and fall uninstall.  Thanks to butterfish55 for doing the electrical work.
Spent some quality time in that attic today....good thing it's not humid this summer. It's like buying a snowblower in October, insuring a snowless winter.

5. Too warm man, don't you want to feel refreshed.  84 pool temp here. I am super jealous of your pool and setup,  gorgeous.  Unfortunately being on a hill my inground options are slim. Put some ice in dat bitch

Lol....I said to my wife we need to get a dozen bags of ice for it. Honestly, it feels amazing. Doesn't feel like a bath at all, very refreshing

6. This time of year, about six hours per week.
Granted, in another few weeks when the novelty dies down for friends and neighbors, I'll inevitably get lazy and start ignoring it for longer periods.
My pool is salt water, pretty much takes care of itself after balancing in the spring. I toss the robot in every other day to vacuum it. Total maintenance of about 30 minutes per week. I do spend some time on the landscaping and other stuff thoughffcca61d47e544a697e1302f070eb9cb.jpg

7. In-ground pool maintenance to enjoyment ratio has to be like 20:1. One cleaning session (skim, vacuum, water test, clear skimmers/pump basket, backwash filter) can last longer than a whole season's cumulative swimming time.
Violently disagree. How much time do you spend maintaining your pool?
8. Do you find the pool worth it with all the maintenance for a 3 month enjoyment? The woman wants an in-ground for the kids so I bought this to get her off my back:

It's absolutely worth it, imo...I have a heater for it, so I get at least 5 months (may-end of Sept). I have t used the heater since mid June though. It gets lots of sun and is always warm. It's a bit of work and $$$ but I love it.....especially on weekends like this

Pool dropped to 78, high was 85, after this weekend we probably max out for the year,  longer nights less sunlight and angle keep a lid on things. Wonder what a home pool temp is in say a Texas desert with no shade,  upper 90s?

Mine is back up to 85-86 after dropping a bit from the rain.  I'm thinking it should crack 90 by Sunday afternoon.  Going to feel like the beach in Key West.
