I was on Eastern then joined this forum in 2011. I don't know enough to post but I sure do enjoy reading all of the analysis.  I used to wake up at 2am to turn the weather channel on for updates; my husband is grateful I only now just need to read my phone and not wake him up in the middle of the night anymore. haha. Thanks to all (most) of you!

Same. No one remembers me from Eastern as I mostly lurked. I think I joined in 2009 bc, you know, but had already been reading. Have learned so much reading over the years.

    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
    deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
    dangers of flooding.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

  3. This is an age-old, circular, meta debate on all forums ever, which will never be solved, but imho it is better to mute posters than to post 15 times a day on how and why other people's posts suck, how they have always tended to suck, and how you expect them to suck going fwd. Not everyone is into using ignore features and that's fine. But, again only imho, the complaints, if excessive enough, become as annoying as the trash posts. Some complaining is cool though, like I am doing here

ETA forgot to add 1.7" here so far

    .NEAR TERM /THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT/...

989 mb low pressure center is located not too far from Cape
Fear NC. Latest NAM has the best initialization in terms of
position and magnitude, the GFS is not too far off, while Euro
is more than 100 miles off with its position. So far, up to 1.32
inches of rain have fallen at Leonardtown MD (St. Mary`s
County) with up to 0.6 inch per hour rainfall rates being
observed at several locations. Rain will continue to pivot
north and west of the low pressure center overnight. Southern
MD will see a brief lull in intensity in the next couple hours,
but another batch of moderate/heavy rain currently over
northeastern NC will move in overnight. Latest guidance continue
to indicate areas east of I-95, particularly southern MD will
see the heaviest rain. Risk of flooding rainfall will continue
overnight until the rain begins to exit around daybreak Monday.

Wind Advisories were issued earlier for the potential for 40kt
gust with the initial surge of winds behind exiting low
pressure. Strongest winds are likely between 12Z-18Z before they
start diminishing during the mid-late afternoon.

  5. Finally posting my long unawaited winter 2023-24 Mid-Atlantic forecast. I'm only posting the synopsis here, but that's ok because the full outlook is identical.

    Winter 2023-24 Forecast:

Sooner or later we're gonna time something right.

    Maybe more than once.

    But maybe not.

Snowfall: double digits at all 3 major airports (10-40")
