  1. Did not know what to expect this evening. When I got out there it looked just like yesterday... But as the Sun got lower and lower in the sky, a streak of cirrus or smoke that stretched from Kansas to Indiana on the visual satellite, started to become visible... The orange of the evening.... The red of the evening...
  2. Today was all about the smoke, haze and humidity. Made for a very *thick atmosphere. Pre-sunset... Close to local sunset... Post sunset with the lone cloud that was northwest of Lafayette...
  3. Another nice end to a race day here in Indiana. Local sunset with some vivid cloud shadows... The red flash with the cell from up north of here around Crowne Pointe... I like the design of this late post sunset image... The extreme late color and the billboards...
  4. For those about to sweat, we salute you.
  5. That second video showed just how limber trees can be right at the end of that video.
  6. Had a disturbance to the southeast and another one to the northwest. And here I as stuck in the middle with you. Time for some Stealers Wheel. Looking south by southeast when I got out to the pond... Always slightly depressing to see the Sun setting to the south side of the billboards... Tried for the huge reflection shot. Too bad the plastic on the GND's kind of mess with the colors. Need to think about updating to some quality glass filters... The orange.... The red... This is extreme post sunset. The smoke and haze on the western horizon produced some interesting banding... Cheers!
  7. All the clouds were towards the southern side tonight. I did not go to the water and just stayed in the grass close to the car. There were fisherman all over the pond anyway so doing it this way saved everyone a lot of hassles. At least there was a little bit of nice color to keep me happy. Looking southeast... Looking south... And looking southwest... Good night my darlin', wherever you are...
  8. Not much in the way of clouds this evening. So here is a relatively newish moon. Only around 4% illuminated.
  9. Was dodging and hiding under the umbrella this evening hoping for some nice stuff if the Sun could round the corner in time. In the afternoon before the rain, looking southwest... The Sun sneaking a peek... Just a little crepuscular rays... Late, late color with some cloud shadows from a cell in central Illinois...
  10. A gorgeous night to be outside. And a gorgeous night for some nice color in the sky. A bad portend. Local sunset between the billboards now. The Sun is really racing to the south now.... Start of the post sunset color. The yellow. And instead of a jet engine, how about a whole jet fighter... The orange... The pinks... The red, and the jet became a kangaroo or a roadrunner... Cheers!
  11. Not much to this evening. Probably the best color... Some crepuscular rays from the cells in South Dakota/Nebraska...
  12. The sunset has it's concert clothes on and as glitzing and glamming up the runway again. When I got out to the pond. Rain to the south of me. Clear skies to the northwest. A perfect recipe for some color. Local sunset... Here comes the wild colors, the orange... And now the amps were all up to Spinal Tap 11. The red... And a tinge of purple for the encore... Lower the curtain, this show is over....
  13. Not every night can not be rock star quality like last night was. But it was a nice generic sunset. Pre-sunset with some crepuscular rays... Close to local sunset... Beginning of post-sunset color... End of post sunset color...
  14. I would like to think that the atmosphere was making up for the wash-out from last night, but I know better. Still it was a very colorful sunset and well worth the time to be out there for it. Close to if not sunset... Just going to skip straight to the red for the evening because that is what I like best. Here the red is rolling in from the north... Looking to the southwest, the mark of Zorro... A wide angle of the "Z" and the stuff on the horizon... The last vestiges of the red... Good night my darlin' where ever you are
  15. The good news is you are about to get your window washed, naturally.
  16. And the run continues another day. Batter-up! When I got out to the pond... Close to local sunset... The orange... The red... and the extreme late colors... Cheers!
  17. Another colorful sunset. Has been quite the run again. This can not last. But until the stratus-fest starts again, I am soaking these up all I can. Pre-sunset when I got out to the pond... Close to local sunset... Beginning of the good color... The red with a wee, tiny sun pillar... and ending the night with an extremely late color image. Almost looks like the Martian atmosphere. Out of this world!...
  18. Another nice evening at the pond. Local sunset... Start of orange up high. There was a disabled semi right in a bad spot all night. Just had to live with it... Orange on the horizon... The red was vivid but all overhead. I had to forgo the reflection image to get it all in here...
  19. While there were not a lot of clouds tonight, the few I had were in the right place and at the right time. Pre-sunset... Beginning of post-sunset... The orange with the beginning of the red... Max red. Maybe a little over-the-top but I like it....
  20. I was spinning like a top tonight at the pond. Did not matter which direction I faced, there were clouds at some time to image. Looking south... Looking northeast... Looking southeast... But of course my favorite is west. Pre-sunset... Post sunset... The early reds... The late reds...
  21. I ventured out to the pond early to get some white cumulus images. Good thing I did as that is where all three of the images come from for today. Looking east when I got there... Looking south... Looking south again after a period of time had passed...
  22. Plenty of clouds this evening. Throw in some nice color and you have a condition where I share to many images because I can not make up my mind or stop taking cloud images. Hang on to your hats! Ignition of the jet engine... A bright but unicolor sun-dog (or Parhelia ) on the north side of the Sun... The Sun dipping behind a cloud and forming a cloud shadow... Widening out a bit to get more color... And sometimes you have no more to widen out and just have to stick the horizon at the bottom of the image and forgo any thought of a reflection image... Back with the reflection image... The beginning of the red, vertically... And the last of the red, horizontally... Hope I did not bore you to tears.
  23. After to rain-out days, it as good to get back to the pond this evening. Some color creeping into the view to the east... Nice design with the beginning of the post sunset to the west... Orange... And ending the evening with the red...
