northern middlesex and southern union are really on the fringe for the best stuff....hope we cash in. but its still a lot of snow if this is in any way accurate....would put us way above average. in keeping with snowy decembers....

my daughter's friend is driving from philly to brooklyn right now with a van full of snakes. i am not making this up. he can't stop for the night they can't sit in the van in the cold, and he can't take them into the hotel with him......

eyeballing around 3 here; snowing good but not horrendous. i could see us getting 10-12. about what i could handle anyway.

yes there used to be morning and afternoon editions, and even different papers for morning and afternoon. i worked briefly at an afternoon paper back in the 80s, but by then it had started doing mornings.

used to work at the veterans center there near shop rite. post retirement gig. great people. no one appreciates help like the veterans. do something for them and they never forget it. still talk to some of them.

feb 2010 started as rain and it was mushy underneath the deep snow. i know, i slipped in it....

thank you i always wondered how the heck he wound up doing weather when he was an optometrist. but you do not need a degree to do weather; it's not a licensed profession. not sure why not, but it isn't. and as any student of history can tell you, the weather played a huge role in the war, from d day to the eastern front. they were plagued by high seas and winds in the days leading up to d day.

also 03 was a friday iirc and many people went home early; we'd had recent snowy winters unlike 87, which followed several years of light snowfalls. that may have been the biggest that winter, in 2003, some 14 inches iirc. looking outside here, it is snowing now, still white rain.

in jan 87 this happened during the evening commute as no one was expecting a foot of snow that put down inches an hour. people had to abandon cars. i'll never forget it, and you won't see me out in it. stay safe.

snowing a little here now. getting cold. just got the snowblower ready; hope the funky wheel holds up. really got caught by surprise here. the backup is working though.

dr frank fields was an eye doctor...i used to think wow, doctor..he must be a highly trained met....david letterman did the weather iirc at some point in his career....
