  1. Ok, this is weird. Here's my radar at the moment:

and here's my view to the west:

I think there's so much wind behind this that it blew all of the precip out in front. It got crazy gusty here, and then we had some brief rain spattering on the front of the house, and now it's calmer and sunny. Pretty wild. FWIW, none of this even registered in the rain gauge.

Need the sun to pop out for a bit.

Looks like a patch of clearing then a line forming behind...

It did here, and temp shot up from 61 to 70 in les than an hour. Big anvil-shaped clouds to my west, we'll see if anything comes directly my way. But you guys further east should keep an eye on the radar--it looks like all of these discrete cells might want to link up after the roll through here.

  3. Got home from work early today. I'm in my downstairs office and just sneezed my head off. My wife heard it upstairs and this conversation ensued:

We've only got .15" so far today. I'm not really superstitious, but come on. I bought a new snowblower and it didn't snow. I bought a new rain barrel and it didn't rain for a month. What gives?

Tried to post about Tatooine earlier but the file was too large

Learned a while back from this forum to use my imgur account and post the direct link here. It's never been easier: Shift-Windowskey-S (or whatever the Mac equivalent is) to capture the snapshot, then use Ctrl-V to paste it into your open imgur page, then copy the "Direct" link and paste it here.

  5. .48"! Also, my neighbor is already up on a ladder inspecting his roof. Apparently there was a bad hail storm here in 2014, so if they didn't get theirs fixed back then, then I could see why they'd be concerned. However, we're still hearing thunder here and it's waaaay too soon to be getting up on a ladder, lol.

Just sent in a report to the NWS. Was a great storm here. Gusty, drenching rain, and got hail cored. Saw the VIL radar and knew there had to be something, was expecting pea size (0.25" but got up to 0.5")

I think I might be next... Ooh, might be the first, real shot for enjoying a beverage on a lawn chair in the garage of the season!

Was hoping you were in the path of that - at least for the rain potential!!!!  Looks like most of it is moving south but to the far west of me so I don't think I'll get anything.

So far it appears the cold front has been oozing in here with overcast skies as I did reach a high of 76 earlier today but am now down to 65 with dp slowly starting to drop, and now at 57.

Yup, got .12". This, combined with yesterday's .06" should help green up things a little bit around here. And, there's finally rainwater in my rain barrel that I installed a month ago. Not much, but some.
