  1. Plus those are anomalies, not temps. Red in Jan is a lot colder than Red in July :-).
  2. Welcome to the team. You Join @cashtown and I as the "Just west of the LSV gang". Carroll Valley is a nice area. How they do not have a gas station still mystifies me. The closed store on the outskirts of Fairfield still looks in good shape for someone to jump in and go for it.
  3. It lightened up here and is a rain/snow mix right now.
  4. You have that mountain protection from the higher DP's streaming over me. I was screwed once I saw the DP was 34.
  5. Yea, its coming down quite decent. Helping the grass accum.
  6. It's probably coming. Watching the ob's moving farther east. Saw Newville had a little blacktop accums as well.
  7. Mod snow and 34. Roof's and mulch have caved. Some accums in the grass. Roads are not going to cave.
  8. Pretty much spot on why I never get too excited with ensemble cold waves until Op's start showing it. It's our right of winter to watch ensembles advertise us rockin' but then struggle to get it to come to fruition. Still hope this time will be better.
  9. Neither Global's nor Short term models were overly enthusiastic for us Southern LSV type folks.
  10. I have not looked at the models this AM (off this week) but its getting harder and harder to have a decent period of cold. We get some but its a struggle.
  11. Light snow here but its 36/34 so I am out for any accums.
  12. Ha. It's not exactly nirvana here neither as to those maps. Regardless of snow maps, as I think you mentioned, at least we have a work weeks of sustained cold from the 3rd to the 8th. Something to work with.
  13. @TimB84 "I seen" the 18z GFS 384 snow map and it looks almost exactly like the snow map quoted here as to coverage. SW PA getting disrespected.
  14. I was racking my brain to remember 48 or 49, did not search back, but it was close!
  15. The HRRR has been slowly improving through the day. Focusing more a bit west of the LSV though.
  16. Just finished a short App Trail walk and it was not cold. If not for the wind it would be warm. 55 here.
  17. I have seen it but like you said, not sure I would call it sustained. As you have stated several times, would be nice to see a GFS run without 60 and 70's at some point. 6Z gave us that but just barely.
  18. Number 1 with hope of it moving east. I guess I was surprised as I scanned over the MA Lr thread and saw several posts about how cold January was going to be. Thought the GFS Op would of shown a slightly better look.
  19. Boy, those late 300hr 500MB Anomaly maps, on the GFS, are quite unique....the 2M temps go along with it. Still disappointing we cannot see anything sustained cold wise in the LR.
  20. Euro has part one of that scenario and leaves the front behind for part two but nothing ever evolves. Otherwise similar depictions up to that point.
  21. Have to give the Euro a ticket to ride the train.
