    And not far to the southwest it’s 28 with flurries. We are close to 900’ though here in Skaneateles. The highest elevation of the Finger Lakes (meaning the actual lake itself).

    I think where lake effect happens it quickly changes the ratio game. So it’s definitely hit or miss.

    They weren’t at all- at least here. It’s easily 18” at this point all in and still pouring snow. Lesson learned…

    Lake effect still adding up nicely here in Skaneateles. Approaching 48 straight hours of snow and roughly 16”.

    I never allow it to cloud my expectations. We all grew up in times when these maps didn’t exist! I just smile at the bright clown map and move on with my day. That said - we are up to a foot here and it’s snowing beautifully. Not the GGEM Kuchera clown map - but not bad at all!

    Agreed here. Definitely the fluffiest stuff. More lake effect like.

    See this is why I post unrealistic Kuchera maps during the tracking. It’s a sliver of happiness before we have to measure and melt the snow and actually be honest. It’s like seeing analysts pick your favorite NFL team to win. You know it don’t mean shit but you still smile in the moment.
