Love the way the color contrasts with dark skies...better than a beautiful sunny day
-
Mid-late October could be pretty wild given the right timing
-
Things are definitely accelerating color-wise even along the coast. Nothing in full "bloom" but the edges are getting pretty vibrant in the maples. Oaks around here seem like they're going to reddish-brown already which I assume is drought-related more than anything.

41F...on a faster pace to get into the 30s vs. last night.
-
A light breeze started moving early this morning so only got to 36.4. Will probably take a ride to the beach Tuesday to check out the swells...could be a little gusty too. Fortunately, the aristocracy in Rye is allowing shore access again...http://www.ryepolice.us/beachinfo

41/34. Testing the mini-split heat mode...so far so good.

39.2F Seems like we'll have some frost tomorrow AM

If I recall correctly, Euro had Sandy in a similar position before moving gradually down the coast to NJ left hook

Keg Lake?
I'd rather not see that Euro run with the 973 mb Cat 2 coming ashore in Machias. We'd be facing tens of thousands of cords flattened, and probably unmarketable because private lands would have 20 times as much to salvage.Nearby...Duck Lake
-
Might have to chase up at camp in Lakeville if that Euro solution actually materialized.

Which model did you go with? You’ll have fun with it.
I ended up with the 6153, no FARS, but I'll upgrade eventually. I had a LaCrosse WS2300 that had some good moments back when we lived in Nottingham but the rain gauge was junk and things started to eventually break. This is the first Davis I've owned...looking forward to it.

53.4. I like those first nights of fall where you can see your breath outside.
Splurged on a new Davis VP2 ahead of my 50th next week. Wife isn't all that impressed that I've been geeking-out over it the past couple days.

I renew my family membership at MWN every year, which includes the station tour. I guess they shut that down due to COVID...next year I guess.
Read a decent book a while back about disasters/fatalities on Mount Washington. I was trying to remember a bad accident on the cog that happened in modern times...it was in 1967: http://www.northstarmonthly.com/features/the-history-and-tragedy-of-the-first-mountain-railroad-through-the-eyes-of-past-employees/article_ec1814fa-515a-11e9-9de4-7b44d5b8c75e.html

Nice storms around Sebago and Winni

Noisy little storm moving through here and looks like the main event incoming from the west now.

I watched a movie called Troll Hunter last night. Silly but fun found footage style movie in Norwegian with subtitles. A lot of outdoor scenery in Norway that made we want to visit some day. I think it was raining or snowing in most of the shots.

Tempo dust took care of my yellow jacket problem. Just put some around where they are going in and out of the nest and they track it inside, killing the workers and the nest. It's not an immediate kill like a spray but very effective where you might not have a direct shot at the nest itself.

Lawn is devastated. Looks worse than it did back at the end of May. This pattern can shove off already.

The last few days, The dragonflies are out in full force culling the bug population.
Definitely notice that up here at camp. Could walk the dogs around the house after dark and this morning and didn’t get one bite.
