Heavy snow, blowing and drifting snow, and strong winds will create dangerous travel conditions through the morning. Snowfall rates will range from 1 to 2 inches an hour with locally 3 inches an hour possible. The highest snowfall rates are most likely across the east end of Long Island. Travel is strongly discouraged! If you must travel, bring a winter survival kit. If you become stranded, stay with your vehicle. $$
