    Too funny! I was only 7 at the time. Never even realized it was possibly to snow at the beach.

    There were snowdrifts up to 8' on the Crystal Coast from that event.

    Very surprised to see sleet starting to accumulate on elevated surfaces here.

    It's still snowing here this morning. We've picked up another 1" since about 8am. My saltwater creek has been iced up all night.

    Recently moved back to Cape Carteret. I was living in Atlantic Beach for the '80 storm as a kid. Never thought this would potentially happen again. Come on down! Drinks are on me!
