    100% and during one of the strongest bands (of many, ~2”/hr) it was probably 75% sleet. Actually, I bet my ratio was closer to 10:1 in Emerald Isle

    Eyewall, where can we find qpf amount from the storm? I’m not buying my RadarScope app. im a 12min south of your buddy and 20” is very achievable from this storm. That is, if you can find a non wind blown spot to measure. This was the best I could do in EI, fwiw

    Love to see an accurate qpf output for the storm. We might have gotten more on the western end of CC… My parents are in Morehead and they just sent pics of >“20… The wind makes it near impossible to measure accurately, but my “perfectly” placed plant stand is a nice proxy nonetheless, it’s been absolutely epic. And considering I moved my family from Raleigh to EI this summer, my snow curse is officially over lol

    Hey. I’m from Morehead just moved to Emerald Isle. But the only plows we have in Carteret County are pulled by horses, lol. 8-12”, followed by below avg temps, will keep the kids out of school for a week

    Sorry if this is a repost, but I got a bit giddy watching Fish talk about this storm. Love his thoughts on the baroclinicity and impacts on steering the low near the coast where the gulf temps are higher than normal

    Moved from Raleigh to EI this summer. Kids are having winter FOMO (me too ), but I’m liking our chances. P.S. ‘89 Christmas Storm was epic in MHC P.P.S. RIP Skip Waters. My dude loved some snow. Miss his wish casting lol

    Agreed. Even though winds are turning WSW, they won’t be blowing hard at all. With limited data (obv) w/ local snow cover, I don’t think the models handle temp forecasting well around here
