Not sure CTP agrees on IPT being winner, map has less snow here than Hburg and burbs.
-
Nothing about my warning is warning criteria. 3 to 6 less than .1 of ice.
-
Haha just being facetious since he always pops in to tell us how we switch to sleet early all the time in these set ups.
-
How long until Jm1220 tells us all how screwed we are?
-
Why is Euro less for northern tier by NY...seems they'd be favored.
-
GFS is what they will ride from way season has gone.

Then we got to start worrying about sun angle.
West and Midwest below average temps and record snowfalls.
We should be ok with the rainfall we have coming. Wmspt suppose to crest @ 14.5.
The problem could be ice jams.
River wise we are okay but small streams are pretty elevated.

Lol I think nws is overly stingy with Flood Watches...models honing in on 1 to 2 inches of rain with streams swollen and ice flows moving like crazy on creeks up here and yet...nothing.

I had touched on this myself a few months ago shortly after coming back here. On EUSWX we had a forum that was more specific to S Central PA and was compromised mostly of non met's who were into forecasting whether for pay or not. It was fairly technical and somewhat similar to the MA LR Forecasting forum. I have found myself having to hold back here a lot as I recognize this forum is now as much about the fun side of weather as the technical side plus it covers areas which rarely get similar weather where it pertains to snow storms. I feel a bit weird posting about heavy snow (which I am still getting) when people in the same forum are looking at PC skies.
Don't dude, that's weather we northern dudes root for all of you, without you no subforum.
-
I find it interesting that people in South Central PA are hardcore weather in this forum...you keep this place buzzing.

Down here it doesn't look thick/solid enough to jam up - it's mainly smaller ice chunks that aren't fully connected to one another. Not sure about anything upstream though.
Last year's river ice was epic. Bus-sized icebergs washed up on Front Street!
Wow what a sight that'd be! Lol I'm fascinated by river ice for whatever reason.

Could there be any ice jam issues with the expected warm up?

Has to get cold in that booth dude...props.

Being honest I agree with you, I was mainly going with some schools make delay decisions based on that criteria so in turn impacts the stupids.

I'm suing someone because I just wore my shorts and sandals today and almost got frostbite. They didn't even have and advisory.
Just a few flurries here, giving the coffee pot a workout today.
Enjoy your snow today!!
Dude just on other side of town we have mod snow and roads covered.
-
People are stupid and unfortunately stupid people have kids...warning is stronger than advisory and if it gets through to one stupid person that a kid can die of exposure on walk to school with slip or incident a life was saved.
-
What are odds NWS stays literal with chill advisory instead of warning...in this dangerous cold why not just get attention and do two day warning.
-
Srefs have been juiced for awhile, so maybe not completely out there.
-
CTP nicely states situation will likely be watch as you go due to huge amounts of variables involved with each part of system.

The GFS is more like a long term light to moderate snow vs. a squall line. Most of the day tomorrow.
Lol I'd rather the squalls...maybe it'll work out.
-
When would frontal squalls roll through area?

Yea pawatch, surprised me...CAD is our bread and butter, yet lower totals than Hburg and environs.
