    NWS is messed up. They posted about it this morning. .

    Looks like the NWS is being conservative. Cant blame them because everyone will point their finger at them if they are wrong in this setup. .

    It also shows some interesting past concepts that are known for our area. Like the snow to sleet back to snow that seems to happen a lot in the foothills with these systems. .

    How has the RAP done in previous winter events around here? Specifically Jan 2022. Most of the globals had us around 3-4in for my area. We ended up with 7+. .

    FWIW…. 0z icon is running right now… first frame should be conditions right now. It has me at 26 degrees when in reality im sitting 3 degrees lower at 23 right now. .

    Can someone remind me if this system is similar to the christmas 2010 storm? If my memory serves me correctly there was indications that there was a storm early but in the days leading up to it it was barely showing no precipitation and 24hrs out it started slowly rising again. .

    Looked like it went from sleeting… to heavy snow just by the modeling. .

    Especially now with tik tok everyone thinks that these models translate into actual weather. If i had all the snow that i was “supposed” to get every year then we wouldn’t be 1000+ days in a snow drought. .
