  1. Ha yeah people have noticed the sun. Its weird, the mountains often in the summer go through long stretches of afternoon t-storms and clouds that billow up around 1pm off the terrain...but not this year. Just been dry dry dry. Thank god it isn't winter lol. Just saw the Underhill, VT CoCoRAHS station that is often one of the wettest spots in the state on Mansfield's west slope has had only 2.22" of rain since July 1st. That's unheard of there during the summer months where storms unload moisture as they move from humid Champlain Valley air into the 4,000ft wall. Meanwhile down in Wilmington, VT by Mount Snow that station has had over 15" of water in that same time.
  2. Never seen grass burn and die up here like this year. It's crazy.
  3. I've had less than that since July 1st, lol. I'm around 2.75" since the start of July. Can see the precip anamolies quite nicely. CNE/SNE (aside from SE MA) are drenched.
  4. The amount of rain in parts of CNE and SNE is staggering. I think we are under 25% of normal up here since July 1st.
  5. I have been having flashbacks recently and looking over recent winter shots... this was a stretch from late January to mid February 2017. 105" in 22 days at the High Road and this photo is from somewhere in the middle of it.
  6. Ahhh that may make sense. The Brewfest is pretty heavily patrolled for obvious reasons...large amounts of intoxicated people there for the sole reason of drinking beer.
  7. Haha no but was at an event for Ten Bends Brewery (a friend owns it) for their two year anniversary party. Completely off-topic but Oddly enough on the drive home in Stowe the wife and I saw a Berlin or Barre City Police (couldn't read it fast enough) unit pull over a vehicle on RT 100 in Stowe, and then we passed a Montpelier PD unit on the side of the road...and for the life of me I couldn't figure out why those two departments would be up here, 30-45 minutes away doing traffic enforcement.
  8. My dad just text me that a TOR touched down...I had no idea!
  9. Ha true enough. Definitely forget that it's a hundredth in 12 hours. Speaking of grids, you know how you can toggle POP every hour... does that mean the same thing? Despite the POPS changing every hour, it's still a 12 hour probability? So like at 10am it's 80% but at 11am it's 100%... is that reading a 100% chance of measurable within 12 hours of 11am?
  10. Models were showing .75-1.5" of rain up here for days... even POPS were very high. Got 0.06". One of the bigger model busts in a long time.
  11. Only had 0.05" last night and like 7 miles north had over an inch. Multiple reports in N/NE VT of over 2" of rain last night. Must've really lit up overnight.
  12. Slight risk tomorrow for NW MA, VT, NH, W.ME.
  13. My cousin posted these on social media though I'm not entirely sure where in CT. I know it's SW of Hartford, but how far can't say.
  14. It is definitely true and higher end when these storm events hit the more populated areas of New England. Sucks that your friend had that come through his roof. I look at that and think we've had some high end wind damage events that may look similar over the past year up north, but it's one thing to have so many people affected vs. up here they are still cleaning up the mountain bike trails. Woods vs. residential...the impact difference is staggering.
  15. 2.00" hail also reported in Columbia County. Edit that paste didn't work well. 16. That's nuts! Hopefully some pics come out.
  17. Dresser Hill is awesome for vantage points.
  18. Definitely looks like the Capital District will be spared, north of that outflow boundary from the earlier storms.
  19. Phones just blew up here in Albany area with Tornado Watch.
  20. Thanks guys, that's what I was leaning towards. Too early with this first line and see secondary stuff going out west in WNY/WPA.
  21. Is the storm threat that thing moving into ALB area now or is it going to be south of there later, associated with like the outflow boundary of that current line of storms? I'm heading to my folks house just SW of ALB and it's pitch black off to the west with good lightning visible from I-87.
  22. No tree left standing from ALB to ORH.
  23. We already had pretty high end severe in NNE up this way 10 days ago with that Tornado Watch. Hail, severe wind damage, tons of power outages, etc.
  24. Still no power, 3 hours later. All hotels and restaurants up and down Mountain Road are out as well. The lightning was constant for about a half hour. August style cracks of thunder. 1.5" of rain and the river out back is up to the grass on the edge of the lawn...just raging through the brush and trees on the banks. Snowmelt coupled with this quick rain, it's about as high as it gets right now and the roar is insane.
  25. I can't seem to find the latest data. Base area site is off-line too.
