I try to be positive with big dogs but I’ve learned to be ASATT too. Too many heartbreaks.
Its rare we get this close with the big dogs.......usually by now everyting settled down or a bad trend was obvious......this is the first legit 30 burger for me in 9 years and I am riding this mutha fuka the whole way - I dont care what any of you say.......if I get under the death band like in Feb 2013 the CRV literally doesn't matter......had 30+ with that monster.....lets fukin do that again......is now the time to point out how this season should have behaved itself up to now and we would have faced having monster pack heading into february? No I'm not supposed to point that out......the mood matters and while the immediate mood is awesome the season mood is a D- which will be a C+ if I can get my 50 burger.......

I'm literally listening to Harvey on the retro broadcast of Channel 7's coverage of the Blizzard of '78 from the weekend after, on Youtube. The amusing part was the anchor cut Dukakis short from telling too long a story to get to a young Harvey. He mentioned a "dual center", one near the surface and another high up in the atmosphere, contributing to the strength of the blizzard. I'm no expert but maybe someone could clarify, but does that sound similar to the "dual lows" some of these models are producing?
Was he talking about the system being stacked? the biggies are always stacked up to 500......and when 200 closes off oh shit.....

I think Central/E Connecticut is going to get a historic dump. Hartford is going to be crippled, and my workplace is gonna be closed Saturday if not longer. The magnitude of this storm is simply going to shut down the east coast and it is going to kill people, but not as many people as the number that would die in routine car accidents if there was no storm so it offsets it.
I mean really? This isn't Virginia

When you pros outside out forecast maps with those ranges isn’t there an underlying confidence interval for those ranges that you’re not showing? I was saying this to my sister in Staten Island earlier and asked if it would help to know what the confidence was - then when things don’t end up close or on The fringe of the range it’s not a complete surprise….May help the perception of the public toward mets- imagine some of those hype mongers putting up some ridiculous range but with a 15% confidence interval lol

What’s the most snow recorded at a SNE weather station in a single storm? Is it the 34” in Worcester during Juno?
for all the hemming and hawing over this storm, I don’t think the historic aspect of potential accumulations is being appreciated.
Total aside: I remember a storm when I was in college where Schwoegler hyped 40-50”. Was that 2001 or 2002?
Hamden CT recorded 40” in Feb 2013…..
