I completely disagree.  Most years we lose December in SNE.  You need to move out west in the high plains or sierras.

And to be honest I give a fuck….I’ll take the snow on 1/15 or 2/15 and 3/15!!  All  3 of those months it’s F’n winter. You and a few others are so dam disillusioned its pathetic.

    whoa whoa whoa......tone it down....

The problem is that we lost December......and now everyone says shut the drapes for two weeks.....so now if things do get going then who gives AF really.....the mood of the season matters.....losing December is a big deal...it sets the table

People say a 78 traffic disaster could never occur again due to current infrastructure.  I say BS. 12/2007 proved that. But this is crazy

We live in a residential neighborhood just off to the side of 84 in West Hartford.......the house was built in 1950 and the highway followed about 10 years after.....I often think about what 78 looked like just on the other side of the wood sound wall across the street.....if that happened now I would totally hump my ass out onto the highway with hot coffee and hot chocolate and get folks warm and alive......

12/2007 was crazy.......I worked the back roads to get home that night and was able to do it in an hour which was only 30 minutes longer than normal but the snow was nuts and I had friends at work that it took hours to get home.......that was the ride home in the blizzard with the 6 month old in the car seat.....hair on the chest sort of stuff......haven't seen a deal like that in a bit......cuz winter decided to suck for all time it seems since then

We did have a string of solid Decembers in the 2000s. Seems like there were only two true duds that decade (2001 and 2006)….all other Decembers had either big snow totals or at least one notable decent storm. We def paid back the piper recently for that good decade of Decembers.

Seems like the 2010s have been bigger Februarys and Marches which were lacking a bit in the 2000s (esp post-2005)….2012-2013 kind of started the era of big Feb/Mar totals that were lacking for a while.

Feb 2006 was good…..24” storm…..then I want to say the next season there was this real protracted period where we got a ton of sleet and cars and trucks had ice cubes on them for days and trucks were getting in trouble for not clearing their roofs off….obviously Jan 2011 was epic…..Feb 2013 epic Nemo…….after that it’s been shit

2004-05:  That was a great winter-snow in November and the December event around Boxing Day.  January torched the first half but then all hell broke loose pretty much until April.  Too bad you took that as normal!

The January blizzard was a bit meh here after we were actually issued a blizzy…..but it was a good winter….I remember a Rainer just before Xmas no?  We had to dig our car out at Logan when we flew back from CA after Xmas though…..if I’m remembering right

2nd half of December, Jan, Feb, and March. We’re heading into the 3rd week of December and the last week of March is very unfavorable, so I guess it’s more like 3 months of winter. Still,  the point remains. There is a lot of winter left, hell winter hasn’t even officially started yet (it starts tomorrow, December 21st). I know some people say on here March isn’t a winter month, but I strongly disagree with that. March is more favorable than December for massive blizzards.

But who cares about snow in Morch…..It’tl be gone in 48 hours and by then who gives a shit about pack……pack building snows need to occur in December with the big boys in January and/or February……early February cuz by the end of February it’s pretty much cianara……I’m a big pack guy….you want deep pack wire to wire and lately it’s been pretty lol for that…..

I get the frustration, I’m frustrated too. It sucks that Fridays storm is going to cut, but it is what it is. We got a lot of posters having big melts, myself included. There’s nothing wrong with expressing frustration, but there’s still 3 and a half months of winter left! Is this threat a slam dunk? No, but it’s a legitimate threat with a high ceiling. We track, then yes, it looks like a mild stretch is coming. However, we can get big snows in bad patterns especially in January, so the shades remain open.

    lol no
