The snow finally stopped about 10 minutes ago. I have 9.75" on my board but I think this was a better flow event than 12/1 even though I had slightly more on the board. The drifts testify that we got more, but who knows.

Hey@MotoWeatherman how much did Beech get?

I feel comfortable saying 6-8 inches.  At my location the winds really whip and blow the snow so it makes it difficult to find a good spot to get a solid measurement.  Lol.  Went to bed with about 2-3 so overnight was a big plus.  Maybe picked up another inch during the daylight hours.  Skied sugar mtn this after and you would never had know it snow up top as it was a solid sheet of ice with 40+mph winds.  The lower half of the mountain was decent though.

  2. As Met and others have already mentioned, the NW flow snow looks very robust.  This is the latest GFS 48 percip starting 6z Monday(1am) ending 6z Wednesday (1am) which should encompass the whole NWFS event.   In most of our NWFS events the moisture is confined to 850mb and lower.  With this one 700mb (9-10k feet up) moisture is going to be plenty throughout Monday.  Then as the 700mb moisture moves out Monday night, the coldest 850mb temps come in with plenty of 850mb moisture around to keep this thing going well into Tuesday.

The GFS precip map has only been increasing each run.  Anything blue or inside the blues is at least 5" of snow.  Like already mentioned this will likely be the best NWFS event this season and I would expect 6-12" to be common above 4k feet.

Probably off topic but does anyone know how many days the mountains (Beech) has had snowcover? I check the webcam up there a lot and it seems they have had snow on the ground for the last month.

I know I've had snow on the ground since before Christmas eve on Beech.  But I'm almost 1k feet below the Beech summit so who knows way up there.

I don't want to hear it!  I sneezed one time on Beech and layed down a good inch 5 feet in front me. You'll be fine. Your pics tomorrow are going to be nice. Love the rock wall garden shot.

Lol thanks.  Wish I was there now.  At "home" in Dahlonega GA.  I'll be living this one out thru the webcams.  Lol.

I think I've settled on the Cashiers, NC area either at 3150' or 3800'. Not trying to get stuck on a mountain past Saturday but I guess the extra elevation would help haha. I'll make a final decision overnight

    Please keep the ZR away:arrowhead:
