  1. Being on the Bay last Saturday afternoon/evening, with those storms, was a fatal miscalculation. Numerous rescues. One body found, 3 still missing.
  2. ^ In the Tahoe Basin, Squaw Valley ski resort has seen so much snow it plans to keep its slopes open until least July 5. In May alone, Squaw recorded 37 inches (94 centimeters).
  3. JFC. What the hell just hit South eastern Baltimore county?
  4. The Gale Warning is warranted. I'd take almost any other weather over these f'in winds.
  5. Looking ugly in the Edgemere, Sparrows Point, Fort Howard area. Actually contemplating heading down stairs.
  6. Yay, over 3,000 without power in Southeast Baltimore County. All of Sparrows Point, Edgemere and Fort Howard in the dark. Last I checked 1.69 inches
  7. Ahh, thank you. We refer to those as BFFs. Big F**king Flakes Which being East of 95 and on the Bay, we don't expect to see many of those tonight. Currently holding at 35
  8. Geez, these winds sound a lot like the winds we had last March (which tore shingles off the roof.)
  9. Ugh "We may be in the middle of winter but, those summer backups on Rt. 50 are still fresh in our heads." There have been talks about adding another Bay Bridge to alleviate some of that congestion after many studies show traffic is getting worse each year. Maryland’s Transportation Authority has put out a map of potential bridge crossing over the Chesapeake Bay. On this map there are about a half dozen options north and south of the current bridge crossing to Kent Island. https://www.wmar2news.com/news/state/mta-and-federal-highway-admin-release-draft-of-bay-bridge-crossings
  10. Same out towards Fort Howard. 32, sleet/freezing rain glazing over the deck and driveway. Street might get little messy if this keeps up.
  11. Woo hoo! Snow globe in the cove. With 4 Mergansers enjoying the tiny bit of open water (due to neighbors bubbler/ice eaters) Beautiful!
  12. I was wondering where my 40 + ducks went to hunker down. Obs-. You know it's really cold when your deck boards start popping. 14 / feels like 8
  13. Thank you so much for saying that. We may regret not dropping the bubbler into the slip. We don't usually get packed ice in the cove... Temp dropped from 34 to 28 when that line went through. Highest wind speed on our roof was 34 mph.
  14. Holy crap. You weren't kidding. Pixie dust and the sun is trying to come out. On a different note, every piece of creek ice has been blown into our cove. And I think I just saw a piece of boat wrap fly across that ice...
