    I’m surprised GEFS were cooler than op. I wonder if the surface “improvement” made to not make it too cold with snowpack affected it.

    That was pre-Davis. That ran a bit colder than actuality on these things, but point stands haha.

    You look at the ensembles, and you just want to see a big H5 blue area over AK and know it's over. Instead you get a big -EPO. LOL. Mother Nature can't let us off that easy.

    HRRR is -10. Part of me wonders that when the real strong CAA levels off on 300 winds, Logan sometimes will take 4 hrs to drop 1F. That's why earlier I was unsure of colder than -6, but with guidance still gung ho, -7 or -8 definitely looks close to a lock. Not that it matters a whole lot.

    That doesn't have the same bite though. This will feel absolutely brutal with the wind. Like Star Wars cut open the Tauntauns for warmth type stuff.

    I would get solar if I could. Need to remove a tree and take care of other stuff first. It's not a priority for me at the moment.

    Winds aloft are 45kts in the boundary layer. We aren't faking this one.

    I was thinking -5 or -6 this morning. Still think 2m temps overdoing it, but I certainly am open to it being colder than what I said earlier.

    Pretty sure we had school in Jan 2004 cancelled. I certainly remember districts cancelling because of cold.

    This sounds like an old man fossil fuel POV lol. Just do your HW. Ask the questions etc. I know plenty who are happy and don't have issues. If you look hard enough with anything, you'll always find problems.

    Probably closer to being correct, but it toned it down a little too from two days ago. HRRR right now is coldest I think. At least here.

    No melt, if anything I was the voice of reason in the February thread. But I certainly don’t get off to record 850 temps or wind chills.

    I don't have the numbers in front of me, but this will go down at least top 5 warm winter, maybe warmest depending on Feb. December kind of is an anchor with temps near normal, but Jan was an inferno.

    Nothing is locked, but it's not 50s and 60s either.
