NHDOT can **** off. Scariest drive of my life and on Election Day morning. I93 from Sanbornton to Canterbury was a war zone. It looks like an ice storm in Atlanta. We were going 10mph in spots and you still couldn't stop yourself from sliding. Not one ****ing ounce of salt on the highway either. I finally got to work, but I'm still shaking. JFC

    But hey low taxes!

I think he looks like a bit of a judgmental snowman. Not too impressed yet based on that sneer. Best we could do with some mulch. :)

Not bad there. You'll get some WAA flow from the SW and then winds go NW tomorrow morning. I wonder how you do on the SW-W flow?

Round 1 definitely wrapping up.  Visibility greatly improved here at the mountain and I see the ASOS down valley is up to 4 mile vis too.

Best I can do is 5.5" here at 1,500ft.  Really becoming impossible to tell for sure with the wind.  Looking at the ski trails they look quite wind scoured.

Any hairy Italians from Moosup on the slopes? I was told in 2013 that 2-3" of snow was just fine for skiing and sledding.

I was thinking about you today when I saw that LOL.  Much better vibe when they are off.  But can’t have Pickle’s cougar slip in her fur boots leaving the hotel in January.

The worst is if it is wet. If somehow the sidewalk could immediately evaporate and stay dry, that is much better.  The wet sidewalks make it awful as the snow melts.

  5. You're always going to have periods of troughs up there. No where on this planet can you have the same exact pattern for months. That is climo up there...they get snow..lol. Even our most epic winters will have a trough up there at some point.

What you do not want to see, is the continued redevelopment of troughing up there. You'll need a solid 3-4 weeks of data to see if that happens.

It’s hard to tell, it’s definitely ripping snow here.

The scans make it tough, the higher the angle of the radar scan the more blocked it looks.  I try for a lower scan that does hit Mansfield but shows much better snow over here from Stowe to Waterbury.

It’s almost like the higher echos on the lower scans are on the east slope.  But there’s a lot of downwind movement too from when the radar hits the fluffy flakes and where they actually reach the ground.

Like this scan is still 6,000ft up over me showing 30dbz snows...that’s probably actually hitting the ground miles eastward lol. Blocked flow would have those echos stopping more at the Spine.

I was just going by how much is even near the BTV area, but could be just a large cyclonic fetch of moisture involved too. Pretty cool...should stack there.

Oaks are native.  Norway maples aren’t-they are crowding out the oaks and screwing with our eco system ultimately.   This is not a new problem but imho they should have left well enough be long ago when they got here.

We had a good amount damage to Norway’s in this snow. I had to laugh at the comments of two neighbors in our neighborhood FB group about how much they hate them. In contrast I saw limited oak damage. I just love when the Norway’s get slaughtered like that. That species just sucks.

But he is going for winter patterns ending around April 1st.  Really going out on a limb there, hopefully that one pans out for him.

Don’t forget it could be warmer than what we has. Not hard to do when you have the entire US colder than normal all 3 months.
