  1. Meanwhile, here in the (usually) warm desert southwest...
  2. I was born and raised in Bethlehem, ended up in Tamaqua, and now I'm in Phoenix. I like it much better here, but as you said, the weather in Tamaqua was interesting to say the least. Hazleton was better for anyone who loved snow as we did dance on the rain snow line. Many times, it would rain in Tamaqua, but just a few hundred feet higher and five miles away, they'd be plowing snow. Sometimes it looked like it does out here. Snow on the mountains around town, but a wet, brown backyard for me.
  3. I'm wondering how much our cold weather in Phoenix is affecting you guys. Out temps are going to be -10 departure until at least mid next week. I'm thinking that until we warm, you guys are going to struggle to get any snow.
  4. I figured out why it won't snow back there. You guys are posting so much that you're warming the low and mid level layers...
  5. Hopefully you all get to partake of this soon. This is my niece's street in Flagstaff this morning. Official NWS measurement was 35.7 inches for the entire event.
  6. That's exactly what's going on out here in Phoenix right now. 50's for the next week despite clear, sunny skies. For here, that's 10 degrees below average.
  7. Only 5 degrees colder than me and we have full on, brilliant sunshine here...
  8. It truly does, doesn't it... Sorry... I do really hope you guys can cash in soon. According to the NWS in Flag, they have 30" right on the nose, with a little more expected today. My niece said they're tired of shovelling...
  9. My niece's front yard and street. Flagstaff, AZ
  10. Sure wish it would warm up out here. Highs only in the 50's for the next 7 days...
  11. Check out my niece's Flagstaff backyard this morning, and they are less than halfway through the event...
  12. NWS forecast snow totals for I-17 above 5,500ft running south to north. Milepost 340 is Flagstaff proper
  13. Well Flagstaff is supposed to get 2 ft of snow over the next 3 days, so we sometimes do have weather... Still, I had to laugh when I saw your post. Good one!
  14. Gotta ask this here. I moved to Phoenix, AZ this past August from Pennsylvania. I was and still am a frequent poster in the Central PA subforum. Now that I'm out west, is this the best place to discuss Arizona weather, or should I start a thread more oriented to the southwest?
  15. I know it can snow in Florida, but it's nothing like Flagstaff and the AZ high country snows. I think technically, some locations up there are classified as an Alpine climate. Side note on the Christmas cold snap, some said there were flurries at the Dolphins game. Not sure if that was actually verified, though. *edit - I guess it actually did flurry in Miami that day*
  16. Sure seems like it. If only my parents had moved to Florida instead of Arizona...
  17. Just pickin' on ya about the typo...or brain fart...lol
  18. Punting this winter and looking at the December models???
  19. So this is the forecast for the AZ high country. How much you want to bet I get sent up there Monday and/or Tuesday?
  20. I already admit that it's my fault, you guys may as well, too. Haha...
