  1. I'd be lying if I said this didn't make me nervous, as I've seen it before. The sun visible in the clouds at the onset of the storm. A few times, it was the the harbinger of a bust that ended up being way less than what was originally forecast.
  2. Snow started on Tamaqua about a half hour ago. Liking the large flake size so far. Temp 29
  3. Yeah, I know it's been "holy" all week. Maybe because it's a Sunday storm...lol I know that won't verify as shown, it was more tongue in cheek and a bad attempt at being humorous, just like my quip above.
  4. Good God Almighty. WTF is this???? Look at that Tamaqua snow hole. I know it won't be right () but still...
  5. My observation of the bolded part of the quote is that I've seen this many times, so there's some truth to it. The flip side of that is that my location north of the Blue Mountain in Schuylkill County ends up being in a subsidence zone.
  6. I'll be the first to admit that I'm ready for break in the cold. It makes my job so difficult, so on that note I'm hoping to see the AN for February. With that said, I'd still like to see a solid thump before this crazy cold this week.
  7. The NAM is a Tamaqua screw job, but I've seen that exact scenario plays out numerous times in the 20 years I've been living up here.
  8. I don't pay for models. What does the 18z Euro show?
  9. So does any of the more knowledgeable folks have an idea on ratios? I usually look at the Kuchera snow maps, but I know they're not 100% accurate. I'd like to see QPF and figure out the snow with potential ratios
  10. The NAM's are a joke right now (unless they pull off a coup) as nearly every other model has warning criteria snow at least east of I-81.
  11. Quite nice indeed, but that hour panel is an absolute sledgehammering for NYC...
  12. Lol... 6 inches of snow in New Orleans would be pretty impressive though
  13. I remember that one. Good storm, but I can't recall if we had thunder or not.
  14. That would be so awesome. I haven't experienced thundersnow since the Blizzard of 96.
  15. I'm thinking 5-10 here in Tamaqua. I think the high end is possible, even though not likely.
  16. And just like that it stopped already...lol
  17. Big fatties falling in Tamaqua currently. Started about 10 minutes ago just as I got home from grocery shopping. Twas 33 on my Jeep, so not sure if we accumulate or not.
  18. There are a few big drifting areas on my route to Allentown from the wells on both 309 and 100. They get dicey from even an inch or two, so it'll be interesting to see how bad they get Monday-Wednesday. I might bring the cameras out to record the ride.
  19. Not at all, and nearly every time, I'm in a jackpot zone, which almost never happens. It'll be interesting to see what the final outcome is going to be and which model verifies.
  20. It's everything nowadays, not just the news industry. Out in Phoenix, they have an fully operational fleet of autonomous taxi cabs that will take you wherever you want to go, and they're still working hard to perfect autonomous big rigs for the trucking industry.
  21. Just saw this now. In light of this comment, may your snow tomorrow melt on contact , and may your trash cans end up off the coast of Cape May...
  22. We are a much friendlier, easy going bunch of folks here.
  23. So with this being called Winter Storm Demi, would it be wrong for me to want Moore snow?
