"Moot" Yeah... case numbers are not a great way to compare due to the huge increase in testing availability. But the hospitalizations, ICUs, and deaths are up a bunch. New "records" (I hate that term) for the first two, and high daily/weekly death #s It is also working its way through the previously untouched rural areas... the Dakotaks/Wyoming, etc are pretty hot right now

I hate moving so I don’t tweak something again. A few years ago I would routinely throw out my back every 6 months to a year. Gym/exercise has definitely helped in that. It still happens rarely but I recover faster. Seems to affect men more than women for some reason

There are definitely more hospitalizations and ICU cases now, but that is probably due more to increased spread. Deaths are up too. There are additional treatments and maybe people are realizing they have it sooner?

My son was a retail worker from March-September (seasonal). He never complained about the virus itself or wearing a mask despite being outdoors doing lifting, etc. he mostly complained about the assholes who would get in his face about masks etc. I have had grocery store workers complain a little to me but again mostly about the customers who treated them poorly. Our son’s GF is a CNA and has been working on floors with Covid. She has not complained about the virus but about PPE etc early on.

The church I belong to has a small school. Used to be much larger. They reached their capacity this year with people wanting their kids to go. It used to kinda suck. But smaller class sizes, no MCAS.

Our hybrid has been working well so far, but soooo many parents have been pulling their kids for remote, which now means the remote "classes" are getting huge, so other teachers are now being pulled from hybrid to teach remote. I have been informed that in a couple of weeks I also will be teaching a section of social studies...lol That should be fun. After today, we are all remote for 2 weeks, and the hope is to come back for hybrid. I doubt that happens before January

No... I knew what was going to happen regardless of what they said. Our union has been working pretty well with admin for this. We are basically ****ed due to staff cuts, and the switching back and forth of models due to rising Covid. Just need to get through this year.
