That tornado has likely been on the ground since Orleans in Orange County.

I'd say the 2 leading tor warned cells in Indiana are close to having tors in progress or already do.
That supercell between Mitchell and Medora looks highly likely to being on the ground right now. CC really popped as it went over Orleans and has been downtrending the last few scans, along with the velocity couplet.

Wow, very intense motion, including vertical, along with horizontal vortices.

EF2 is the prelim for Cairo, GA.

And now the ORD diversions are going into high gear. American 1941 from PHL just landed here in STL.

KDTW (Detroit Metro) is officially closed until at least 0100 tomorrow due to freezing rain. Nearly 20 diversions and counting.

SLX bumps forecast for the city, yet again, to a solid foot.
I mean, it only took at least a full day to do it. *rolls eyes*

Was just looking at that earthcam shot. You can barely see across the river to the arch. Inch an hour rates in the current meso discussion.
Yeah, visibility for me in Central West End across the street from Forest Park is about 1/4 mile right now. It started just before 1300 but rates really picked up at 1400, close to an inch already.

SLX upped the forecasted total for the City of St. Louis up to 10" and potentially over a foot. I'm not the least bit surprised considering nearly all models go over 10".

That storm only took like 20 minutes to go from a blip on the radar and then go severe... talk about explosive development. The atmosphere is indeed very unstable.
And DFW Airport is in the direct path of this exploding storm. Looks like American is about to get some newly dented planes.

Tornado confirmed near Ardmore.
-
Apparently a confirmed tornado near Falkville & Lacon in southern Morgan County.
-
There are zero chasers on live stream on that cell about to cross I-65 near Ardmore.
-
TDS near Lester, headed directly at Ardmore and the I-65 welcome center for Alabama.

Cell on the TN/Al border is getting its act together quickly
Yep, but thinking this cluster just to the south is keeping it at bay for now.

Tornado confirmed to have gone through Russellville, AL.

New video has been posted of the the monsterous north Alabama EF-5 as it passed near Hackleburg and Phil Campbell. This home was on the very edge of the path and winds I'd say are easily in the 80-100mph range. The sound is incredible and the motion of the funnel for a tornado nearly a mile wide is absolutely astounding.

Well yeah.
I was going to say the same thing

It is warned now and velocities are in excess of 100mph. That beast is spinning like a top.
