That cell passed right over my house about 20 minutes prior to this. It's been a long time since I've heard thunder like that...it sounded like someone was hitting the side of the house. I live in Wolf Laurel at 4360'. It's not in the area you've been looking, but if you want convenience to Asheville and plenty of snow, this is the place. The ski resort is being completely remodeled by the new owners as well. I know that there is a new section of ridgeline properties currently under development at McKinney Gap, but they haven't been listed as of yet.
