I'm way more optimistic then some of you.   Even if it's early afternoon before all snow, the snow should be falling at a good rate an base of ice and sleet.  Also, the nam and some other models are beginning to show a longer duration with more energy lagging on the tail end.

    patience grasshoppers

I know what your 2022 resolution was-optimism! LOL

Does the radar look as bad as I think it does…. Where is the snow coming from after this rain..

Yeah, it was modeled that way. 1st round rain, then nothing, then slop (hopefully mostly snow). Main event late, late tonight/tomorrow morning into Friday morning

Heard from another post that JB's folks both died at the same time last Wednesday.   Turned out to be true.  I wonder how that happens?   Pretty rough stuff, I wonder if he's taking a hiatus.

He posted on Twitter today that both died from COVID.

NAM continues to take a dump on our storm -- but it's marginally better. It ups the snowfall in Columbus from 0.3 inches (6z) to 1.6 inches (12z). Progress!

Low position was further SE & weaker though so that is also good for us.

Again, perfect placement. Low through Eastern KY to near Morgantown or so, yet keeps us sleet the entire time. Sigh. It appears no model is going to cave, so apparently it's take your pick. Unless... GFS caves 0z.

And, GFS? Looked like less amounts but couldn’t tell if it went NW/SE

It's all good.  This debate about splitting off the sub comes up every year.   This sub is definitely Chicago to lower Michigan centric.

Yeah, give em a Midwest thread & be done with it. But really having this is fine too.

can't wait until tomorrow when the radars are fired up and we start dissecting every hrrr run.

You guys remember that one 2 years ago in January.    Started off as rain and sleet and was suppose to changeover but it took hours longer than expected.    The local meterologists caught all kinds of hell.

    Oh yeah!!!
