  1. 2.3" so far with a peak gust of 29mph in Pikeville.
  2. 0.66" in Pikeville. The clouds looked good, but my highest gust was only 28mph.
  3. Here's the closest picture I know of to the Landspout that occurred in Mt Olive NC on Monday. It was definitely on the ground.
  4. This happened in Mt Olive in Southern Wayne County about an hour and a half ago. We received about twenty 911 calls reporting a funnel cloud as well. No reports of damage as of the end of my shift. There are several better pictures and videos of it on Facebook.

  7. Here's how it looked in Pikeville earlier as the severe thunderstorm moved into Wilson County. This storm was tornado warned when it was in Johnston County.
  8. I finally got a piece of one this evening. My weather station gusted to 30mph and recorded .30" of rain, but there is a tree that may have obscured some of the rain since it was lined up with the wind direction. Plenty of lightning too.
  9. Same luck here. It missed me by a mile. There were some close cloud to ground strikes, but that's about it for me.
  10. It looks like you have one incoming to Wilson. It should stay just north of me here in Pikeville. Plenty of lightning to my north with it.
  11. 3.15" in Pikeville overnight. Some parts of Wayne County got more than 4 inches with several roads flooded.
  12. There's a small rainbow on the back of this thunderhead. The storm was located over Goldsboro when this picture was taken.

  19. Here's the southend of the cell that just went through Johnston County. These pictures were taken in Pikeville.
  20. Here it was coming into Goldsboro a little while ago.
  21. This was the storm I encountered on Highway 264 just east of Washington last Thursday. It produced at least quarter sized hail with a few pieces close to golf ball sized.
  22. We saw a few quarter sized hail stones on Highway 264 east of Washington. We pulled under a shelter at the Beaver Dam Church to ride it out.
