There is no panic here. I am just a weary traveler/model reader looking to find a place to plant my flag for the upcoming Vstorm. I am going to get snow from this storm whether I am in Montreal Canada or in Richmond Virginia. It does not matter to me. Its excitement either way. Joy!

    YOU want snow.

Head for Mammoth Mountain in Cal. They just got FIVE FEET of fresh pow. Face shots are everywhere. You'll need a snorkel to ski. Or a scuba tank with a regulator. You should see the DRIFTS!

They dont get a window of opportunity there. Not one. THE ENTIRE WINTER is opportunity! SIX MONTHS of wall to wall winter, deep snow and 90 mph blizzards!

They get so damned much snow, and it is so damned COLD, that they actually had patches of snow at high els that made it all the way to late November when the new snow arrived!

This resort makes the Northeast look like the Florida Panhandle!

When I DIE, I want to go to Mammoth Lakes. It's pure HEAVEN!

Weve been chasing 7+ days since  mid December. We got an excellent run for 7 -8 days over two weeks ago.

Archaic   models and this new environment we are in, and weather forecasting is rapidly falling   behind all other sciences.

Now plenty will tell me how I Should Be Looking at it but I live in reality.  This has been a great hobby and I continue to do the recordings and we are in many cities now.  But this model chasing fantasy has worn out. I love  obs threads in situation but frankly all the rest of it is just myriad and myriad of ever changing examples of what might could possibly happen .That creates nothing positive for me anymore. Hitting one out of every ten targets is frustration and that’s not a hobby

see you again when snow is in reality on the way or occurring

See ya for the 00Z model runs

  3. The Mid Atlantic may have the winter of 2010 incoming in late Feb thru March 25. You guys may be buried up to your roofs in deep snow.

But in south Texas, there are major signs that it is already mid April. The southeasterlies are getting established. I am becoming frantic as I attempt to get spring preparations done in early February. Weeds are rampant. Grasses are growing as though it were already April 25. The eastern US may about to be plunged into frigid winter with record historic snows in a couple of weeks, but we here are pretty sure it is spring already, and this is early even for us. I spent three hours trying to mow my 12 inch lawn. This is ridonculous for this time of year. I am already in short sleeved shirts and inhaling huge amounts of sweet iced tea, trying to stay cool in early Feb.

Enjoy your deep winter, Mid Atlantic! You guys are gonna get obliterated by snow soon, as we pass all the moisture up to you and it interacts with all the frigid air on the other side of the Continent!

This upcoming three to five week period to me, even tops 2009-2010 in terms of potential. And it's easy to tell that the the gifted ones on this board can sense that something out of the ordinary is headed our way. Time to strap in people.

    We. Have. A. WINNAH.

    Something historic this way comes.

Award me a quadrillion hotdogs if you wish FOLKS but it's coming.

The creature is clearly seeking shelter from an impending heavy snowstorm.  See if you can trap it or at least get a photo, so we can determine if it's a MECS mouse or a HECS mouse.

There's only one way to deal with a HECS Mouse. That creature will eat you out of house and home. It KNOWS a massive snowstorm is brewing. It knows the pattern is historic.

    Get a Cat.

There's one way you KNOW you are gonna get destroyed by snow. You didnt get NAM'med, you got MOUSED.
