Backside winds were impressive for this event. Nothing with the oncoming of the storm, but the backside winds had our power flicking on and off, and had the trees bending quite a bit.

Watching ABC, they are stating emergency services have reported a tornado with that storm. I believe that’s what was said.

Believe me, I’m not complaining. My pup on the other hand has a had rough couple nights.

Can someone explain why this cell just kind of formed? It’s sitting over us and was genuinely caught off guard.

Sarcasm, right? Otherwise what an insane take. “You got heat stroke and you liked it”. Woof. Someone commented on Monday that mesos were showing a possibility of storms for today. Is that still holding true? If someone could point the direction where I could check out the info myself, that would be greatly appreciated!

Didn’t they sample the atmosphere? Am I using the correct terminology? I swear I saw someone mention the Hurricane Hunters were flying into the system to collect data. Who gets that data imported? Do all models use that data, or only some?

Is the moisture on land for this storm? Wouldn’t that be important for sampling? Shouldn’t we wait to see how the moisture phases before buying any model prediction? And shouldn’t we wait to see how strong the high is before going full-hog? When would we have a good understanding of the strength of the high? I’m genuinely asking, so please don’t read this with any tone other than curiosity. It just seems that there is a lot of potential excitement, but, to me, there are a lot of questions. Whatever you all can offer, please do. I genuinely enjoy learning with each event as the discussion unfolds.

First of all, congrats. That’s awesome! second of all, every anniversary, my wife likes to remind me that the only time in the last 12 years that it rained on our wedding date was our actual wedding day. It rains, it rains. You’ll figure it out and enjoy the moment regardless.

Temp may be 77, but add in the 1000% humidity at the moment, and I’m certain the “real feel” is much higher.

It’s summer, lawns go dormant. Perfectly normal.

Had a cell set up right over me…then it just kept feeding itself. Thought it was going to be a quick hit, and it turned into 30 minutes of very heavy rain. If that’s a prelude to tonight, it’s an unsettling one.
