    so question from a lurker. What is the difference between how the AI models adapt over time versus established? is it more pattern recognition versus manual calibration??

    way way way over hyped - maybe because we've been so snow starved. I'm no met but I love to observe and learn. Seen these threads so many times and you have to stay grounded. Consensus points to a snow-to-change "fair to middling" storm for the city that we've seen play out many a time, certainly sounds like nothing exceptional or historic

    the amount of salt being strewn around during recent events is obscene and unnecessary - especially in the city.

    i remember being on the forums for that 2015 storm where we got a dusting and not storm of the century. There was a lone voice saying 'aint happening' can't recall. People really invested and lost their S?$t!

    Probably squeezed out an inch from today. City Metro was too warm, too wet and the storm got going too late

    bit of a bust forecast - in a GOOD way - mets only had the city down for a trace from this storm 3 days back.......

    Concur about the same here in Cobble Hill. 1-3 forecast spot on and it took a while to stick

    Yes it has - as sleet I'm just saying it looks awful wet out there right now, it may cut down on higher totals. We shall see.

    please not a coating for the city. As soon as they get mention of a snowflake here they send the plows out to cover us in salt

    Locally, Nobody has taken snow off the table seemingly (Yet). Reading this forum we should be expecting the sun to be out!

    NYC is just in a horrible place for snow this year (and generally).

    Rare as hens teeth hence a large pinch of salt when you see them modeled 5+ days out.

    eh prob not a bad thing kinda getting sick of these nuisance slop / changeover events. The wait goes on for a bigger storm (if not this one)

    so NY Metro might be on the cusp of another 1-3 event at least?. I guess that's where expectations should lie and be happily surprised with more.

    solid event 3ish inches. Solid hour or so of front end snow but changed over very quickly

    Milton Florida seeing more than Central Park would be quite something.

    That was the DAY OF and AFTER it started falling. One lone voice calling BS on the massive totals forecast who was right...dont recall who but people really lost it.
