  1. Give me a positive PNA and a negative EPO and get some huge LES events.
  2. A negative PNA almost always results in a warmer then average pattern for us. Nearly every index is going the wrong way aside from NAO.
  3. There is the potential for an event the next 2 weeks, very up and down pattern. There is no abnormally cold air anywhere in North America for quite awhile.
  4. Full snow cover here too since the storm but this pattern is Looking like a warm December again too?
  5. Yeah, over 6" of SWE equivalent melted in a week besides the piles. We had 1-2" of rain and temps above 50 for 3-4 days if I remember correctly. I think I slept a few hours that entire week. I couldn't believe what was happening outside, I honestly didn't think that was possible. 65" in 24 hours. Ratios were also lower than typical lake effect. It was some of the heaviest snow I shoveled. For instance, last weeks event was much easier to shovel in terms of snow density then during that storm.
  6. I don't think we get too far below normal during that timeframe as the PV is on the other side of the globe. But you don't need really cold temperatures in late Nov to get snow around here.
  7. Kind of shocking we've been having decent snowfall winter totals with Decembers of the last 10 years.
  8. Something interesting can come out of this pattern.
  9. Interesting pattern setting up next weekend. Some clippers and maybe some LES? Winds look W/NW right now.
  10. What benefit do they get from this hoax? I don't understand it. There is no money in this field, but loads of it in oil and gas. Superpacs give tons of money to candidates that would better benefit them. As you said earlier, follow the money trail.
  11. There needs to be global change and the Paris accord was put into place to help initiate that process. One country won't have an effect on a global problem.
  12. We're due for a mass extinction event, but the probability of one happening in our lifetime is so minuscule. I believe climate change and overpopulation will most likely be the next mass extinction event. https://cosmosmagazine.com/palaeontology/big-five-extinctions
  13. Do you think scientists have any incentive to lie about the data and their research? They make pennies compared to what they could make in the private sector with phds.
  14. The long range has been trending colder and colder each run. Quite the opposite of the last 2 years. We're going to have a much below normal November, but thinking slightly above average December.
  15. That is for talking about climate change across the entire forum. You're allowed to talk about it in here as well. Most sub-forums have several discussions through the year about it. It directly affects us in upstate and is interesting to get different viewpoints/data on it.
  16. I was once a climate change denier. Go do a few months of research and come back. The climate is constantly changing, but the rate of warmth the earth has experienced in the last 100 years and the increase in CO2 (which warms the atmosphere) cannot happen naturally. I'm too lazy to explain it, but it's a fact humans are and have had a huge impact on our climate.
  17. With no cold high, might be rain/mix. Something to track at least.
