  1. Well we wouldn’t hand them any money until they got to the process of being considered a valid serious candidate. As I already started nothing needs to change... most super pacs are given later on in the election process. A large private institution or independent billionaire doesn’t want to give anyone money until they have validity and lots of support. They would be throwing money out the window.
  2. How does the current process get rid of thousands of candidates? The initial process wouldn’t change at all and it wouldn’t need to to accomplish what I’ve stated.
  3. Anyone that wants to run gets to run. That initial process would not change. It would be a tiered payment structure, the farther they get in the process the more money they receive. 20 candidates (1 million), 10 candidates left (5 million), 5 candidates (15 million), 2 candidates (20 million) Something like that. They could utilize an unlimited number of volunteers. The stronger the candidate, the more volunteers they would get.
  4. Easy solution. Allow a designated amount of public funds be available to those running. Or have it all done voluntarily. Don’t let any private money come into the equation. The current process of running for president is a joke anyways. The process takes a year + traveling all over the country holding unnecessary rally’s and costing millions of dollars on waste. It’s unnecessary.
  5. Removing super pacs and private interest involvement in elections would be a big start and what max said
  6. I know this happened in Italy for awhile and now in the US too...I don't think this happens even in the worse flu seasons. Coronavirus is now the leading cause of death in America https://nypost.com/2020/04/10/coronavirus-is-now-the-leading-cause-of-death-in-america/
  7. 777 deaths in last 24 hours for New York. Down 22 from yesterday.
  8. What do you think about that Navy captain who got kicked off the ship?
  9. The biggest misconception of our democracy is that we actually have freedom and control our viewpoints with our right to vote. The 1% control the world and it's impossible to stop them.
  10. As I mentioned yesterday if there is no vaccine or herd immunity and we go back to our normal lifes, does the virus just disappear? I doubt it.
  11. You're a NYS cop, is it 20 years and done with full pension/benefits for life for you? I know NYS has one of the best pension programs for state employees in the country.
  12. I've worked at quite a big large companies and they're lazy people everywhere. I guess you have to ask yourself would I rather just on my ass and take advantage of the system and make 25k a year(food stamps/welfare), or work my ass off and make 50-100k+ a year. For me, $25k doesn't allow me to travel, and half of that has to be spent on food via food stamps. I'd much rather work. I can see what you're saying if the disparity between taking advantage of the system and working hard was close, but it really isn't close at all.
  13. Which makes me wonder. How do they come up with the flu vaccine so quickly if it mutates each year?
  14. I'll tell you one thing. I think hand shakes are done for. We need to come up with something different. Maybe a air fist pump or something? Air high five?
  15. Exactly. The subsequent wave of cases could be double, triple what we have already experienced the last few weeks. As soon as I'm let free I'm going to the gym. That place will be a cesspool of COVID.
  16. What is the infection number at now? Is it guaranteed to lower?
  17. I feel like the social distancing is working but once we get out and about again is the virus just going to disappear? Without a vaccine or herd immunity, what is to say we just end up exactly where we are now or even worse? I don't really see a short term solution in all of this. We already have proof of warmer weather climates that it does not stop the virus. Once we start having our outdoor concerts, fairs, parties,etc... What will happen then?
  18. Well I just booked my first trip after this virus is all over. Mt. Kilimanjaro in July of 2021. 8 day hike up the mountain and 2 day safari! Going with 7-8 friends. If anyone is interested we are looking for a few more people. Going to use my $600 a week from UI to pay for it.
  19. 799 more deaths in NY. 20 more then yesterday. We should hit our peak next week.
