  1. I was almost one of those in March of 2008 during that big snowstorm. Had my girlfriend drive and we spun 3 times went across the road and got hit my a truck going 40. A 1/2 spin early and I’m dead it hit the back of my car. From that point on only I drive in the snow. I consider myself a pretty good winter weather driver with all my chases. I’m pretty comfortable in it.
  2. Driving in snow and cold results in quite a few car accidents and deaths. I’d be shocked if that isn’t leading cause of death.
  3. A few models have a couple inches tomorrow around same areas today
  4. First the Bills lost last night and now this. I need a break from Buffalo sports for awhile
  5. That's the cutoff line for most LES events. It's why the southtowns get 20-30" more per year than the northtowns do. It all makes sense now.
  6. I see almost end to end warmth on the GEFS and EPS. We basically lose the next 2 weeks entirely. The reload is christmas week, I hope...
  7. This was RGEM for 12z yesterday, a little too far south but close
  8. That was 2 days ago and most of them have 48 hours of model time, RGEM/NAM is the only one that goes beyond 2 days.
  9. The RGEM is the only model that had it. Look at post from earlier today. Measured 3.3" so far here.
  10. Radar trends show the band off Lake Erie has intensified during the past hour or two, likely due to an increase in mid-level moisture and a longer fetch due to the southwest winds. These conditions will not change much until late this evening when wind shear increases and winds weaken. Model QPF guidance is too far south with this band, so adjusted accordingly. Since the band should maintain through around 10 p.m. had the confidence to issue a Winter Weather Advisory for Southern Erie county. The band should generally remain in place through 7 p.m. then may meander slightly north between 7-10 p.m. before weakening and moving south after that. Greatest amounts expected to be centered somewhere near Hamburg, with impacts extending across the Southtowns this evening. Expecting 3 to 6 inches of snow accumulation in most persistent snows. As typical with lake effect snow, this will be localized.
  11. Over an inch here rgem won this one just issued NYZ085-080600- /O.EXB.KBUF.WW.Y.0026.000000T0000Z-211208T0900Z/ Southern Erie- Including the cities of Orchard Park and Springville 454 PM EST Tue Dec 7 2021 ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM EST WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches in the most persistent lake snows. * WHERE...Southern Erie county. * WHEN...Until 4 AM EST Wednesday.
  12. Yeah would have been perfect ugh. We had some decent squalls move through pregame though was pretty cool I got a good video of one.
  13. ...A LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND WILL AFFECT PARTS OF NORTHERN CHAUTAUQUA AND SOUTHERN ERIE COUNTIES... HAZARDS...A lake effect snow band which can rapidly reduce visibility to less than a quarter of a mile. This lake effect snow band is producing heavy snow at the rate of 1 inch per hour. LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 411 PM EST, a lake effect snow band was strengthening between Sliver Creek and West Seneca, and extending inland to the Boston Hills. The band will impact Interstate 90. The lake effect will remain nearly stationary through 6 p.m.
  14. Yeah, grass and roads covered here, nice beautiful flakes. 28 degrees with moderate snow.
  15. decent little band off Erie drifting north, looks like its strengthening near Dunkirk, steering winds pretty weak tonight but might have a chance at a few inches @lakeeffectkid383
  16. Over/under Buffalo or Syracuse hit 70 degrees in the next warmup? I'm saying 50/50 right now. Chance on Saturday and next Thursday
