  1. I have a strong suspicion the first leg of the invasion was with the weakest soldiers and oldest equipment, on purpose, as a dry run. Minimal costs and if they got lucky, great. It also gave Ukraine and the world false hope and made it look like the Kremlin is struggling, which is the type of misinformation they love to exhibit. Look weak in poker when you have the nuts…

  3. I think so. That’s the type of mission they are likely to carry out. While the militaries are preoccupied with each other, these guys sneak around and pull Putin’s strings. As much as they say Putin is unhinging, he’s also KGB. Smart, tactical, and thinks several steps ahead of his foes.
  4. Sources are indicating the Russian Wagner group could be involved (makes sense). Those that don’t know, they are a private Russian military group (basically hitmen with military backgrounds) that have taken part in previous conflicts/wars. They’re mostly of Russian decent but they have some Ukrainian members, which increases the likelihood the militia will know their way around Ukraine as well as posing as pro-Ukrainians only to extract info on resistance whereabouts. They’re savages…they rape, torture, and kill and have been known to be the covert operators behind several high profile coups and assassinations.
  5. New update: Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki warned that Russia may attempt an attack from Belarus down the inside of Ukraine's western border to block the country off with Poland, saying "we must act quickly" to deliver humanitarian aid.
  6. Yea, it’s a super delicate situation if nato or usa puts troops on the ground in ukraine or issues a no fly zone with our aicrafts. That would set off a global war against an unhinged russian regime with north korea and china lurking to the east. Nobody wants that so the folks asking for usa and nato to add military personnel in ukraine are short sighted.
  7. Good. Especially if the intelligence is true that Belarus is joining the Russians.
  8. @PowderBeard, a good piece on cluster munitions being used by the Russians: https://www.bellingcat.com/news/2022/02/27/ukraine-conflict-tracking-use-of-cluster-munitions-in-civilian-areas/
  9. Yup. You’ll catch some events there though, kitchen sink type stuff, but all it does is delay the inevitable while causing most of us to drink or chew ourselves into a coma before we leaf out.
  10. Yea. Any actual numbers like that table suggests is suspect. The more important aspect of this invasion right now is the ground truth of southern towns with damaged civilian infrastructures and confirmed civilian casualties…which the Kremlin once again has lied about.
  11. The more this gets drawn out and the more mistakes Pupin makes, the more money the oligarchs lose…and the proverbial missiles begin to turn inwards.
  12. A mucked March and April may cause folks to take bong rips to numb the pain.
  13. Why are people getting their main source of info from twitter? Lol
  14. I find the “they are making aggressive comments about Russia” funny. It’s like a school bully who finally gets reprimanded with a suspension and cries how unfair it is.
  15. Dude is a delusional psychopath. “Top officials in leading NATO countries have allowed themselves to make aggressive comments about our country, therefore I hereby order the minister of Defense and the chief of the General Staff [of the RF Armed Forces] to place the Russian Army Deterrence Force on combat alert,” Putin said in televised meeting with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov. According to state news agency RIA Novosti, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense, the strategic forces "are designed to deter aggression against Russia and its allies, as well as to defeat the aggressor (inflicting defeat on him), including in a war with the use of nuclear weapons."
  16. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/09/19/world/europe/russia-election-google.html I don’t see the conclusion jumping. Putin’s popularity has been waning. If the elections were real, we really don’t know if he would win.
  17. Yup. It’s not popular at all. Putin can only lie to his people for so long in a modern world before they see it for what it is. This isn’t 1970…
