The bastard determines the games afoot and comes closer zooming right and left, obviously trying to calculate the correct time to speed forward for the kill! But no after several sweeps side to side it determines now is not the time for the kamikaze attack and slowly turns and flies off, not unlike a small drone. First thoughts were I spotted my first cicada killer. Unfortunately the solid stripes on the body didn't match the irregular ones of that species. The storms with the front are weak sauce, and perfectly tracking to miss me. Funny funny stuff man after being so damn wet for close to 6 weeks all kinds of rain chances the last 10 days and been missed by every one of them becoming sprinkles. 100% agree that is about when I started hearing that weird frog call. Also had a couple of them living on the deck railing at that time after never having observed them. I had put a water bowl in an old unused open style wooden bird feeder and the frog stayed around for maybe a month. Very strange. Could it be a "beneficial" Chinese invasive species for a change?

It's been a strange heart attack pattern of cloudy below normal days and showery days alternating with 90's never seen anything like it.

Hard to believe there are people in this region with dry problems. It's been a veritable rain forest locally since Memorial Day weekend. CoCoRahs are running near twice normal. Weather World 30 day outlook has the frequent rain pattern continuing, for some? Also, regular discussion of being near the top performer in 90F days in the NYC region, and yet July is on pace to finish...below normal.
