Yup, passing Best buy and the Galleria by exit 120
Haha that's my exit. I live five minutes from there ( I regular Best Buy due to impatience sometimes).
Safe travels, I hope the metro area down there gets hammered a bit..- 1

You'll be in my neck of the woods. Not a bad spot to make an L.I run.

Lets see if the GFS is right once again or if the Euro will take the cake.
Honestly a 30-50 mile shift west on that Euro map and a lot more people are in business..but I fear the GFS and its formidable accuracy.
Nonetheless when I get home in Middletown we should have anohter 8-10 or 12 on the ground maybe?- 1

I bet we do get a repeat of Dec, get out and ride now man! I bet The warmth they are showing will put the boots to winter as far as snowmobiling is concerned.
Headed back up this weekend which would make 3 days total of riding, probably 4-500 miles total. Would like to atleast get presidents day weekend in.
Fingers crossed it's only temporary.- 1

If it can shuffle the pattern so we can actually get some freakin synoptic snowstorms in Central and Eastern NY, I say, reluctantly, fine...whatever. Bring it.
I'll take 1-2 days of 40s for more snowstorm potential as long as we don't go back to that pattern we had in December

Sticker Mule? They have a bunch of random unrelated businesses here too. Taxi's, a gym etc. Orange county can do very well in this setup. Let's hope we can all cash in.
Haha yes. That's interesting to say the least. Their Twitter account is something else.
Fingers crossed! -

Yeah, I definitely like my location for this compared to most of you. Synoptic is all I have, besides the occasional weenie streamer.
Im with you bud.
FWIW I order my stickers for my business from a place in Amsterdam- 1

You're in a good spot. We don't care about NYC or New England though.
Glad to be "technically" upstate NY
@tim123 What you asked for I believe.- 1

Our turn
Preach!
Although this thing is big enough to clobber the entire Northeast with 6+ inches if it was in the right spot.- 1

The western ridge looks to be backed up a bit and there’s better blocking in the Northern Atlantic. This is coming west.
It's in a good spot for a Hudson Valley hit but I won't be home so I wouldn't mind a 100 mile westward jog to slam upstate.
Now if I feel up to waiting for the Euro -

GEFS is also improved with the trough. Lots of positive changes this 0z run.
Rooting for it! I was refreshing the GFS page as the model was running to see if there was a change. 6 Days out, it's go time for watching.
Hopefully Euro and the next few runs come more west.- 1

That would be a good storm for the snow starved ENY folks. But hard to swallow for the rest of us. If it's going to miss the entire forum to the east, hopefully its OTS like the GFS.
You guys west just got a killer storm, it's our turn in the east and central to get smoked!
That Canadian is looking real good. All the models have had runs with this storm in the last 24-48. Definitely something to watch this week.- 2

When we can't get Lows that go over SE NY and the Hudson valley to produce SNOW here....we are SCREWED. Absolutely ridiculous... it's harder to get a legit snowstorm here than it is the South these days. Lol
You should come live in the Hudson Valley and then you can see the battle we have with that stupid rain/snow line when those LPs run to close inland...
Some of these fantasy storms coming up the coast are bonkers..- 1

Holy Jesus if this hit us Hudson Valley would get obliterated.. That blue is so darkTruth! It sure does!

Woke up this morning and forgot we were scheduled to get a dusting to an inch or two thanks to the storm moving by south of us.
Left my house in Middletown and it was coming down light but as I got closer to my warehouse in Florida it was really coming down nicely. Can't ask for much more on a weekday down here with no storms right now. 32-34f observed and so far a dusting in 45 minutes. Looks nice and feels good that's for sure.

I believe 93' was 960, would that be record breaking?Even more unbelievable would be a land based LP at 959

you don't use global models when dealing with mixing, they won't see tiny thin layers of warm intrusion. I said that like 5 times in the thread. Yes the nam got the warm air intrusion aloft right as it should with a meso, but in general was way way way way way to warm. Ask tughill how his 1-3" of snow is doing. I would use rgem over nam in a heartbeat.
Just got back from my trip up there. The entire area did pretty well on and off the hill headed towards Brantingham and Stillwater.
I was at Cedar Pines (I can never get a beer there they are always jammed and they seem to avoid people standing up.) and the trails out there were not as impressive as 12-18+ inches should've been. But they definitely got the snow.
We stayed at the Edge in Lyons Falls and waking up yesterday they were dry-slotted for a few hours but after that it was snowing most of the day moderately (we were in Stillwater area mostly but even at 5pm when we had dinner at the Pine Tree it was coming down).
If I had to guess they got 7-8 inches on and off the hill headed east towards OF. I don't know how OF itself made out, nonetheless they really needed something and could use a lot more.- 5

per that yea, but I would not trust global resolutions, won't pick up small layers abv freezing like mesos. But we are still outside of useful range. So just pound a few beers and wait until sunday 12z
Still hope for us Tombo... maybe come up to the hill Monday
Whole lotta kutchie

Soundings look supportive of snow. Color scheme looks like sleet
Color scheme looks backwards actually... the scale shows darker to lighter pinkpurple for lighter to heavier snow but it literally looks backwards... lol
I'll be in your neck of the woods this weekend, maybe we get some of that band ??? -

We 100% Need that again who are you kidding !
I can't believe this large of a storm and we're mostly missing it. I'll take 8 inches down here but it's going to be gone next week so it is what it is.
