  1. Going to finish with 9.99 LOL. The news at 6 said one station reported 11.63. Don't know if that was a trained spotter or a hobbiest. I didn't see any amount that high on wundermap for Cranston. Have to say though when the rain first started yesterday the rate was 5.34 and by far the loudest rain I've ever heard. You could here it coming. I live 1/4 mile from the highway and told my wife that's not the sound of cars from the highway. 2 minutes later massive rain drops and the defining sound it made. It was incredibly loud for about 5 minutes.
  2. Thought for sure I'd hit 10". Need another .32. Not looking like it will happen. Radar looked like a lock for it this morning. Only .31 since 11:00 AM. Big time drought buster for this area any way!
  3. I'm at 9.32 in less than 24 hours. Pretty much right under the 9 on that map.
  4. Under a flood warning now. Went by one of the places that typically floods in heavy rain. Was just starting to flood the street when I went by this morning on my way to work. Hard to see puddles in the road. Raining along with construction and barriers damming water. Ride in sucked this morning. Gave myself plenty of time.
  5. This is what happened in that event. If we weren't in a drought this current rain event would have been almost as bad! Beginning with a Feb. 23-24 storm, the National Weather Service registered 4 inches of rainfall on its Warwick rain gauge. Another quarter of an inch fell between March 1-4 and from March 13-15 and March 22-23 the gauge logged another 3.7 and 3.4 inches, respectively. Add to that amount the 8.8 inches of rain that fell between March 29 and April 1, and Rhode Island was soaked by a total of 20.15 inches of rain in just 38 days.
  6. Finished with 7.37" for yesterday and sitting at 1.25 so far for today. 10" looking very likely by the time this rain event ends.
  7. 1/4 mile east of interstate 295. You can see my exact location on Wundermap. KRICRANS8 click on view wundermap. https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KRICRANS8/table/2022-09-5/2022-09-5/daily
  8. I'm at 6.62. Looking at the radar through CT 10" isn't out of the question. Made up for the whole rain deficit in this are in 8 hours. I'm 61 and have been living here my whole life. Seen rain amounts like this more than a few times in 24 to 36 hours but this amount in less than half a day not even close. The first downpour the rain rate was 5.34 for about 5 minutes. it was absolutely defining. Closed my pool Saturday. Said yesterday maybe I should put the cover pump on the cover. Glad I did!!!
  9. Haven't seen any weather stations in Cranston at 8". Hand full are at or just over 7"
  10. 6.36 now. As soon as I sent the last post a quick heavy burst. .34 in 12 minutes. Wiped out the rain deficit in less than 12 hours in my area.
  11. Just hit the 5" mark 5.04. About a 1 hour lull of light rain. Heavier echoes now filling in again.
  12. Looking back into CT my total could double what I have now. Flash flood warning keeps popping up.
  13. Looking back into CT I'm getting really concerned if we get a repeat of what we just had over night. I'm up high so no problem for me but Where I have to drive through to get to work tomorrow morning isn't going to be fun unless I take the long route which is about 17 miles longer. Another 4 to 5 inches on top of what we already had and I will take the longer route.
  14. Up to 4.41" Right on the southern edge of the training right now. Just when I think it's letting up it gets heavy again. Light rain right now. 3 hours of heavy rain.
  15. I have an Ambient weather 2902 connected to meteobridge. I also set up a few old fashion rain gauges in my back yard to compare against the weather station rain gauge. The weather station is set up without anything around it and level. The weather station was .15 off from the 2 tube rain gauges. The meteobridge allows for correction in the router software. The weather station is now within .01 of the other 2 rain gauges.
  16. Yes it is. It's concave in that area. It won't get higher that that tho because it will overflow down on to Allens Ave.
  17. I'm in Cranston about a quarter mile east of 295. KRICRANS8 on Wundermap. I'm at 3.65 right now. Flash flood warning popped up on my phone about 10 minutes ago. The 3.65 is since 1:00. I don't know where the 5" in Cranston is! Looking at all the weather stations on Wundermap I don't see anything above 4" all across Cranston. Hope it's not going to do this into sunrise tomorrow. We'll be close to 10" and have major flooding!
  18. At 3.06 and counting. Training right over me west out to CT. In and out of moderate to heavy rain.
  19. Just picked up an inch of rain in a little over 15 minutes. Still coming down moderately. Thought we were getting a thunderstorm. Dark clouds then became brighter and torrential rain. 1.21 in 20 minutes now. For 5 minutes the sound was defining! Up to 1.33. KRICRANS8 on wundermap.
