If it deserves a name, give it. But if is barely or questionably a name and nobody will ever remember it, let's not waste names anymore. How many names we have had here over my home that nobody will never remember. I do remember the ones that actually created a memory, and even then might have to Google to remember what name that was and what year it visited.
I do name my photos, so have my own archive of photos and videos of waves crashing over seawalls or debris in my yard, but even then when looking at them I have to remind myself how the experience was. So many to remember, so many to visit. TS Debbie was one to remember for sure.
Or, maybe someday we can name thunderstorms that pop up over here. Some are more intense and exciting than some Tropical Storms. Hey, we name winter storms now, right? Why not afternoon thunderstorms?
Im down. We really should only name them once they reach 65kts

I kinda hate CV storms anyways. Let’s hope we can get a homegrown system into the gulf or Carolinas before august 20th instead of counting on the MDR.

Only in Houston can you lose power for about half the time during a 5 day period because temps dropped into the teens here and near/below zero farther North, and lose power almost a week from Hurricane Ike in 2008. All the neighborhood citrus trees died. Native to Texas Sabal mexicana palms laughed at the cold, probably why it is native, my fan palm (California fan, Mexican fan, hybrid, I don't know, $5 at Wal*Mart in 2001 because the Sun bleached the label) looked like it had died for about three months. Oh, 98F seems the magic temp, looks like they miss the house, but storms on the sea breeze have blown up in a huge way. Hard to see the fronds, but they have finally appeared.
That’s a dank story

It’ll get a name. Everything gets named. Plus it has a nice swirl already.

I have worked as a 'service hand' a few miles from Cameron, the land was purposed for cattle ranching (and the occasional gas or condensate well), I saw the skeleton of a calf that got too close to the bayou. I have also flown offshore out of Cameron, which appears to exist mainly to service the offshore oil and gas industry. Per Wiki, the town has a population of 406. Cameron, the largest parish in Louisiana, has less than 8,000 people.
To be fair I meant Lake Charles too. I know it’s a little inland but look at what the last year has wrought. Time to start winding down our presence on the coasts.

We need to use some infrastructure bill money to start buying people out of SW LA. Just leave it barren. It’s clear that climate change is doing its thing and the end point is uninhabited land.

I love mathematical formulas almost as much as a good storm! Funny how "math" connects ALL things.
But I am "John Dee", Prospero of Shake-Speare/Bacon...

That would be nice. Forum archives are a museum for future generations.
future generations are going to fighting AI robots and scrounging for soylent and clean water. I doubt they’ll have time to figure out why everyone was so wrong about iota’s central pressure.

Imo it should have stayed that way, though from an impact perspective I understand why to group them together with tropical systems as they share the same impacts.
Let’s only name bonafide 65kt hurricanes. Avoids the dipping into the secondary list problem. Kill off all weaksauce StS and regular TS. Last season had plenty that barely made the cut.

More rain for lake Charles

I’ll start threads from here on out. It’s all good. Let’s be future-oriented. 2021 is gonna rock.

The original tropical dudes had their history wiped. The neoposters now have had a partial wipe. Such is the way of the world. Nothing last forever, even cold November rain.
