80 degrees and sunny here by Lake Norman in North Meck.

Atmosphere is recharging.

Had strong storm this morning around 6AM and another around 2PM.

My parents had a tornado touch down about 5 miles NW of our house in southwestern GA (Colquitt County) last night a little after 11 PM.

Some trees down but fortunately it hit a very rural space with mostly farmland and woods.

My buddy will have a story to tell for years to come. Turns out where they were, Stratton, CO, was the absolute bullseye. They wound up getting 18 inches of snow. After three hours of being stranded on 24, locals came to the rescue to get them unstuck. Combination of bulldozer and snow shovels got them to a church nearby. The church made chili for the 15+ stranded and offered a place to sleep.

He called me today safely at his Denver destination. Helluva way to start his Colorado chapter!

Good friend of mine is moving to Colorado and drove cross country from North Carolina.

Him and his girlfriend are stranded in heavy snow squalls in their car on HWY 24 just west of Burlington, CO.

Been there for a few hours now. It's crazy he says. When I 70 got shut down, they were diverted to 24.

Locals are trying to pull cars out of the blowing snow drifts. Crazy stuff.

C'mon Mother Nature, give the Lake a March dusting!

Still think we could wind up with up to two inches in the Lake Norman area. That deformation band is gonna unload on the corridor for at least 2 hours before it moves east of us.

Nice fine powder coming down in Cornelius by Lake Norman.

Starting to collect on cars and roadways.

Not bad.

This storm is cycling intensely.

As it weakens, it takes a breathe and gathers strength.

It literally bisected the downtown district of a city of 40,000 people. And heading towards more suburbs.

Crazy.

Praying for those in Newnan.

Lots of folks having gone to bed for the night may have been blindsided by this.

Downtown Newnan going to take a direct hit. Tornado taking a left turn into a more populated area.

God help them.
