Most of the Central Valley locations are still hovering around freezing with winds from the north. About 45 mins until the next round comes through. Could we see snow? More of that icky icy stuff? .

Very fine flakes IMBY. Ice covering the trees and ground. Not sure about the roads. .

Temperatures across northeastern TN into southwest VA are stubborn to rise versus the modeled rate, and that may continue to be the case overnight for areas with frozen precipitate on the ground. Lowered temperatures and slowed the overall rise overnight across locations that are still sub-freezing with observations from area airports and spotters with the latest HRRR and NAM guidance. Product wise a SPS for the relevant TN counties and an extension in time for the winter weather advisory in southwest Virginia have been issued. A band of light rain is crossing much of the cold portions of the area now, but will swiftly move through. Additional light icing is likely from this rain swath. Meanwhile the main band of rain still lies to our west, and a few rumbles of thunder or direct lightning bolts cannot be ruled out as the storms have been rather persistent while crossing Middle Tennessee. This line of primarily showers should rumble through during the overnight hours in agreeance with the forecast and guidance.-NWSM .

This next wave that’s in Chattanooga didn’t bring up any warm air, it’s actually cooled temperatures from the heavy precipitation. (From different stations in the area) Really going to be interesting to see how it fluctuates the forecast for later this evening. .

Definitely need to monitor the next line coming through around 4. My temperature is holding steady at 33 along with much of the Central Valley locations. Could make for some bad travel conditions. Not sure why TDOT decided not to treat roads. .

Winds out of the SE now. Temperature rose 2 degrees within 30 mins .

Looks like the Low may slide just south of Memphis by latest trends. .

All models showed the system over the gulf sliding north into ETN right before the front gets here but radar indicates it will actually move into the Carolina’s. Hopefully that helps with temperatures on the backside. .

Temp rose to 32.4 also noticed my solar radiation climbed too. Winds out of the NE at 3MPH with 7MPH guest. .

Same here. Temp will rise .3-.4 degrees and then drop back down with the gust. Freezing rain still ongoing. If we maintain cloud cover with continuous rounds of freezing round I don’t think we will reach a high of 40 today. .
