...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
LATE THURSDAY NIGHT...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of New York and southern Vermont, including the
following counties, in New York, Hamilton, Northern Herkimer,
Northern Saratoga, Warren and Washington. In southern Vermont,
Bennington and Windham.
* WHEN...From Thursday afternoon through late Thursday night.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Additional rainfall is expected Thursday afternoon and night
as a line of strong thunderstorms moves through. Rivers and
streams are already running high and any additional rainfall
will go straight to run-off in areas that have recently
flooded. Additional forecast rainfall amounts for Thursday
afternoon and night are 1 to 2 inches, locally up to 3 inches
in the heaviest thunderstorms.
