    Like the trends of the 00z GFS and Canadian for the 21st and good grief at those temperatures.

    Euro has a storm that goes just to our south on the 21st and then unleashes an apocalyptic ice storm on Jacksonville Florida. Plenty of time for it to come north.

    I loved the weather channel in the 90s. It’s what got me hooked on weather. My favorite segment of their programming hour was the weekly planner. During winter I would catch it as often as I could to see if a storm was coming my way. Thanks for that website JoMo. Brings back lots of memories.

    I am in Little Rock for work this week (very rarely down that way anymore). This has to be one of the better snow falls I have seen. It has just been steady most of the day since noon. Big flakes.

    I think the difference this time from what I can tell is there was no phase on the 00z. I am not great at reading that though so I may be incorrect.

    Got to love the GFS. Just when you think it’s locking onto something it pulls the plug. 1/10 storm now mainly an east coast snowstorm with barely any rain making into Arkansas much less snow.

    Yes. That was certainly a nice change of pace. Just need a little movement north. But not too much. Don’t want this to end up in Minneapolis or anything.

    12z GFS continues to advertise a major winter storm for our area on Sunday. Question I have is if there is blocking then wouldn’t that prevent the storm from cutting like the Euro has been showing. Wouldn’t the GFS solution make more sense?

    00z GFS with a nasty ice storm to snow for Northwest Arkansas on the 5th. Southern Missouri gets buried. Maybe a touch further south too this run compared to 18z.

    It always makes me nervous to rely on the Canadian. lol. I would’ve rather not seen the 12z GFS.

    My goodness. I got so distracted by the snow I didn’t look at temps. Has me getting down to -9.

    The 00z Euro was incredible. Latest runs still showing the cold just need some moisture. Hopefully it doesn’t end up snowing in southern Louisiana while we end up with below zero temps. Edit: Will also add that the AO is forecasted to go strongly negative after the 1st.

    00z GFS definitely brings the cold after the new year and seems to be hinting at a few chances for some winter weather.

    I would just like something to track over a few runs. I feel like I may need to take a break for a few days. Maybe things will look better in the new year.

    Man. I really want to be inspiring at this point. But after the last 24 hours of model mayhem I’ve become comfortably numb. But I will say this, I think this is a really complex system that has caused the models a lot of trouble and we have the benefit of high ratios. I think we will get a nice snow to look at just not the big storm we were expecting from a few days ago. Go team!

    GFS needs to quit playing games with my heart. It can’t cave to the Euro like that then come back and give me hope.

    Yep. Looks a lot like its 18z run yesterday. Even has that second little system that swings through after the main wave.

    To me the GFS appeared to take a step toward the Euro’s 12z run. Who knows what the Canadian was thinking. I guess it wanted to shut down central Arkansas for a couple of weeks.

    Need a slight northwest trend from his friend from Canada. Either way I’m not complaining. GEM totals are crazy when you think about the possibility of 20:1 ratios.

    That is some cold air that snow will be falling into on Monday morning according to the 18z GFS.

    It’s so nice to know other people go through this. Most people just don’t understand weather model addiction. The worst part is when someone wants to make small talk about the weather and I want to do a frame by frame breakdown of why everything they just said was completely incorrect.

    12z GFS for the win on Friday for nwa. My goodness!

    I would say about an inch here just north of Pea Ridge. I think Fayetteville was the big winner with this. Heard 49 south of Fayetteville is a mess.
