  1. Anecdote for what it's worth - I live close to the ridge line that Joppa Road follows West of Towson, and on several occasions, I have left the Homewood/Hampden area where there was only wet pavement and a car topper to find stickage out my way. Just that little bit green and elevation can make a pretty big difference on some of these marginal events.
  2. The 1/2 moon also looked pink at sunrise as a result of the smoke layer.
  3. Not sure if it was the same meteorological set up, but I remember when this happened - it capsized a water taxi and killed 5 people in the harbor: https://www.baltimoresun.com/maryland/baltimore-city/bal-remembering-the-baltimore-seaport-taxi-tragedy-of-2004-20170303-story.html
  4. Thanks for the explanation! I've read that radar sites along the flyways often catch the movement at night during the spring and autumn migrations, but I wasn't sure if that's what I was looking at.
  5. Question - Looking at Sterling through radarscope - Are those migrating birds?
  6. Heavy Thunder, Lightning and rain in Towson with some hail pinging the windows as well.
  7. Saw one this past weekend near Loch Raven
  8. Cardinals and Blue Jays are common for my yard. I've never seen an Oriole - I'm pretty sure I had one living nearby a couple of years ago because I thought I kept hearing the call (not great at call identification), but I never actually saw it.
  9. Agreed. I am post cancer treatment and have trigeminal nerve issues. Been down the pain killer path and won't go back there again. It really works magic as for uninterrupted sleep - try to avoid daytime use, but sometimes it just has to be done.
  10. You do need to prove you have a medical need, but "medical need" varies depending on who you talk to. Generally, I think your assessment is correct.
  11. I live just inside 695 near the end of Charles Street - definitely moving in and out of the "moderate" bands. I work at JHU Homewood and, in marginal events, have often been pleasantly surprised when leaving down there and heading up Charles Street. Just that little bit of altitude can be wet pavement down there and white roads up here.
  12. Just up the street from there. Moderate snow, sticking fast. Currently 28.
  13. Can confirm. Sleeting now in Towson. Wonder if we'll switch back..,
  14. Hey All - Long time lurker; first time posting. Anyone else see a bolide meteor Last night sometime around 8-9pm? It was moving almost directly west to east and the green glow could be spotted through the thin cloud cover. Pretty spectacular.
