  1. Looks about the same here, coming down pretty good too. I also got a snowblower this year
  2. Looks like a mix of sleet and snow coming down at 6 am
  3. I think it's great to have all that insulation, some people just really understand insulation and air sealing. I'm in the icicle club myself, house built in 1820 and does need some help in the attic area with in insulation.
  4. I don't see any gutters on the houses around where I live, but I would not see any issue with them if you were well insulated like jspin is and didn't have any kind of ice dam issues. I think the problem would be an ice build up eventually pulling them down. I have a garden shed out back and there is an icicle extending from the roof (maybe 8 feet tall) all the way into the snow lol.
  5. Light snow here, looks like an inch or two new today. The wind is really whipping right now.
  6. Started lightly snowing here around 11:45 I think, hit 0 for the low last night.
  7. -8 right now, I do not think I have been below -10 yet this year.
  8. I believe the temperature rose overnight here as well. Was -4 around 6pm, but at 6am it was -1.
  9. Down to -2, but it really doesn't feel that bad out.
  10. Temperature at the house when I got home at 4 p.m. read 3°.
  11. Looking forward to it, I enjoy this weather this time of year. Really all the seasons in NNE have nice characteristics.
  12. All of this snow this past week being blown around makes it look like the Arctic out there. Had a little snow yesterday, but it sounds like this pattern is coming to an end unfortunately. I like the deep winter feel. Sitting at -1 right now (7:30 am) and can hear snapping outside. I see one tree that is leaning hard in the woods being suspended by other trees, think it gave out sometime during the night.
  13. Snow has started falling here again. Somewhere between light and moderate. As for winter tires, I prefer studded snows where I live. This town maintains one paved road, the rest are dirt/gravel (besides two state roads). Going down the hill in icy conditions before the plows come out would be sketchy without studs. Unfortunately I get up before the plows hit, I've never seen them plow overnight here. The town has two plows. I've had to bomb down the hill in a foot and a half of snow before. I really think the best tire set-up varies for when and where you drive. No one size fits all. I doubt I'd have studs in an urban location.
  14. I'd say we got around 3" today, started around 9 and is actually still lightly falling. Started the day at -1°. Absolutely beautiful scenery out there.
  15. Just had a snow squall move through after light snow and flurries most of the day. It actually got sunny for about an hour and then near white-out conditions
  16. Have a fresh dusting right now, not sure how long it has been snowing, but it is still coming down. Temperature at 7 this morning was around 2 or 3 according to my outdoor thermometer.
  17. Lol I feel like I live in an amusement park. Everything is kid related around here. 5 year old, 3 year old and 6 month old.
  18. Right at 6.5" here, believe it wasn't nothing but snow. Just flurries now. Apologize in advance for the ruler.
  19. When I tell co-workers I live in West Topsham they often reply with "you guys get a lot of snow" or something along those lines (if they even know where it is located), however I work down in Hanover and most of my co-workers live right in the upper valley. I do notice a difference in snow between here and there (I work right on Route 10). Between me and you I don't notice as much difference, maybe just slightly more here? I don't know if that ridge plays any role, I know those mountains go up and over 3,000 feet between me and you. Up and over Orange on 302 is where I notice more snow.
  20. Looks like the same amount of snow here. I was up all night and snow started around 3 if I remember correctly. A wicked strong wind gust came in around that time too
  21. Snow ended here, sky looks awfully wintry like. Looks like it would be much later than noon.
