  1. Just over 2 inches in my front yard in Hillsborough.. light to moderate snow coming down.
  2. If I could get any flakes larger than a grain of sand, I might get a dusting.
  3. Got me salivating in Hillsborough a few miles south, but can’t taste it.
  4. Was just about to say, radar showing a snow shower just to my north in Roxboro (aka NC snow capital)
  5. It gets so confusing for amateurs like me..I don't doubt what you're saying at all about the HRRR...but I swear someone earlier today said the HRRR was by far the most accurate for this last storm.
  6. I'm thinking of driving to the coast instead of jumping... but when i get halfway there, the models will change!
  7. I think we were all thinking a dry slot or dry slots somewhere, but then the HRRR came with a HUGE DRY slot covering numerous counties in central NC. I don't think anyone expected that.
  8. Okay help me decide the debate between staying in Hillsborough or heading to the coast for this weekend...who has the better shot? And "the coast" for me would likely be Carteret County.
  9. We'll see what the Euro says, but as of this morning my NWS station's discussion called for 2-4 inches in my neck of the woods, and that seems about right. I don't think much has changed. So under 2 i'll be a bit disappointed.. over 4 and I'll be thrilled!
  10. Weenie question but i think relevant: when is this coastal low supposed to start forming? I hear the experts saying we'll have more reliable data once it starts forming.
  11. My “zone area forecast” for Orange County from NWS has potential snow chances starting at 1p Friday afternoon, then 50% chance Friday night. Seems they might be thinking an earlier start.
  12. Might be headed to Duck, NC to chase some snow for this one.
  13. Seems like this forecast is all about how close the L tracks west vs out over the ocean. We’ll know in a couple of days.
  14. Will this melt enough for schools to reopen tomorrow? Hmmm….
  15. My grandfather was a farmer in southwestern NC and was better at forecasting the weather than computers in 2026.
  16. But but what will I do with all this beer and liquor??
  17. So Georgia, SC, and southern half of NC probably get next to nothing?
  18. Weather forecasting has become an absolute joke. It’s 2026, and they often can’t even predict the low/high temperatures with any reasonable degree of accuracy. I’m not sure what has happened in the meteorological science field, but something is wayy off.
  19. I went from 20 inches of snow a week ago to a dusting of sleet, lol. So what’s on tap for next weekend?
  20. The way this entire storm has unfolded, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the triangle get nothing at all!
  21. Man it's become quiet in here... have we all settled on a solution more than 24 hours out?? Things could still change.
  22. So RAP, HRRR, GFS, and ICON are all bringing a couple inches of snow to northern NC. Keep that trend going!
  23. What's the ICON accuracy typically like at this range?
