  1. at least 50 inches in oakland MD.
  2. dews dropped from being 78-80 for the past 3 days to an astounding 74 this evening. KAMX radar shows a band of storms over the everglades near I-75 west. Clouds were moving fast today.

  6. And so it did. For a couple of hours in the early afternoon, weak flow aloft created mostly stationary thunderstorms over the southern FL peninsula. The image as follows is a few hours later, around sunset. Eventually, storms grew over downtown FLL just east of here (opposite direction of pic below) and delivered around 1.5-2" of rain with great lightning.
  7. 87/81. Yesterday featured very intense rainfall and loud thunder in the early-mid afternoon hours, then after sunset, great lightning show. Today looks to repeat that here in S FL. A vacation marked by extreme humidity and heat indexes over 100. typically lasts from mid-late may thru early october, such is life in the only tropical rainforest climate zone in the mainland USA.
  8. Wow, what an impressive heat lightning show to my southeast! This comes after some afternoon storms earlier today. I will try to get some lightning shots.
  9. This picture doesn't do it justice how dark this cloud really was. moisture laden storm cloud as i visited family.
  10. about an inch so far. temps have been similar to a strong cutter going well north of here in winter.
  11. just about an inch so far, just to my NW is twice that. last bout of heavy rain at the moment, which should taper off over the next few hours.
  12. mod-heavy rain just started here. looks like isolated 2.5-3 inches just WNW of here in MD. line just got redder on radar.

  14. mowed the grass this past saturday and it's barely grown a tenth of an inch, usually its faster. turning brown as well.
