I remember that... Commack 30+"... 5 miles north of me... I live on the south shore and it rained all day as it snowed to the north only a few miles away... Yep, the Boxer Day storm for most of Long Island was an experience of looking at the radar and seeing the mega band over Jersey just sit and dump snow as we experienced light to moderate... 24+ in those parts while we got 12-15"... Phases later than depicted... pushes heavy snows east... That is the only thing I would be worried about .. At this point nothing like that is being depicted... but that could change... although not likely...

I was thinking 12/2009... but it's just not big enough when compared to what this looks to be... Now I'm onto 78 or 96... 78 wins given the wind... there were drifts ten feet high on Long Island for that one... The 78 storm did run closer to the coast... introduced some freezing rain... but rarely do you get a monster storm without some mix, no matter how brief, on Long Island... wound up with two feet and 10 foot drifts... Got ya... but every model is tracking this SE of 40/70... that is not conducive to NYC and west having the best dynamics... it screams Long Island and Eastern New England... Just trying to understand where the thought process is that the track will be inside 40/70 (That's where Boxer Day storm tracked)? Need some education so I can see what I am missing here... Thanks...
