Nice thing about the portable AC units....can slap the wall bracket and hose in and out of the window effortlessly if there's an anomalously hot day in April/May. Yes there's the disadvantage about the negative pressure they can create which essentially reduces the capacity, but if you get one of the ones with dual hoses (one intake one outake) that pretty much eliminates that problem. Looks like there's a nice weekend on tap so not going to hear any complaints from me.

GFS says back door. We will back door and it will stick around long enough until the next cut off comes in from the west. And 50s/rain will continue. Back door - cut off - back door - cut off and on and on.

I give up and I’m not looking at any more models. There will be no summer in New England this year. Today through Tuesday will be the norm through September under either a cut off or back door with only a handful of nice days snuck in between systems. I’m not sure we will have any days above 75 and I think most will be sub 70 with many sub 60. Seriously thinking of canceling all of my summer vacation plans and rebooking for more southern destinations.

This week was a nice break. Next week looks like back into the swamp with a big storm early week followed by more fun right on its heels for late week into the weekend. The million dollar question is.... is there any hope of even a minor improvement after next week's cutoffs depart? Forget a prolonged nice pattern, I would even just take a couple days per week that aren't 50s and gloom at this point.

Enjoy today looks like it may be the last time we see the sun in weeks. Endless gloom/raw/rainy starts Friday and looks to persist well into May and zero signs of when it ends.

Have portable AC with window insert now. Can install and uninstall on a nightly basis since its effortless. Already done it a couple times.
